Coinbase review: Coinbase wallet 4

I tried to send my crypto from Coinbase Wallet to my Coinbase account. So after a friend of mine got off the phone with Customer service we figured out how. He went first and his worked beautifully. I did not have the same luck. I tried to send WAVAX (Wrapped Avax) to my Coinbase account, which now I know it’s not supported on Coinbase. It’s supported on COINBASE WALLET but not on regular COINBASE. Anyway, I copied my address from my Coinbase account, switched over to my CW (Coinbase Wallet) account, hit send, pasted the address on the bar and low and behold the Send Crypto button lit up! Why, if it’s not supported, would that button light up? So I hit the send button and wait for the funds to be transferred to my Coinbase account. Nothing. 10 min pass…Nothing. 20 min pass…Nothing. So I decide to call Customer support and open up a case. Gave them the transaction hash and she said she couldn’t see any activity on my account. After about 30 min of her digging around, she said she was going to hand the case over to a specialist, and that I should be looking at my email for a response as to what happened, here’s the response, “ We’ve reviewed the transaction hash provided and found that the cryptocurrency asset you sent to your Coinbase.com account isn't supported by Coinbase. While Coinbase allows trading of the Avalanche (AVAX) cryptocurrency, we do not currently offer support for its wrapped version called Wrapped Avalanche (WAVAX).

Because we don't support this asset, we don’t have access to it and are unable to retrieve it. Also, due to the irreversible nature of cryptocurrency transactions, we're unable to cancel or reverse this incoming transaction.

We understand that this is a frustrating situation. In the future, Coinbase may begin to provide support for this asset. If that happens, you’ll automatically receive these funds in your account.
