I have a ticket with Vietnam Airlines from Con Dao to Da Nang with a connection in Ho Chi Minh City. Unfortunately, last week I received an email informing me that my first flight had been changed to depart 5 hours earlier than planned (at 7 am). This means we've lost all our scheduled appointments in Con Dao, including transfers and tours we had planned for the morning. There was a link in the email that, theoretically, would be useful for changing the tickets within 48 hours. I opened this email an hour after it arrived, and the link said there were no flights available to change to. I opened the Vietnam Airlines website and found several other flights for sale at times much closer to midday (as was the flight I had originally booked and planned). I sent them screenshots by email requesting the change to those flights so I wouldn't lose what I had already booked or have to wait 5 hours at Ho Chi Minh City airport. After almost a week, I received an email from them saying that the flight I had seen on the website was for premium economy, not economy as I had paid for, and that if I wanted to change it I would have to pay the difference. I received this email at 3 AM in my country, and at 7 AM I received another saying that since I hadn't responded to the previous email, they would keep my changed flight (at 7 AM). At 8 AM in my country, when I saw the emails, I replied that there are different time zones in the world and they can't expect us to respond to their emails within their business hours. Furthermore, I expect the flight to be changed to the indicated flight without being charged the fee, obviously because it was their mistake and the least they could do was guarantee me the closest flight to my original one without charging me extra. I am awaiting a response.
