Carwise review: Damage done to vehicle
I have been a customer of Dutch Valley Auto Works for over 50 years. I first went to them when I was 18 in 1974. My beloved 1967 Camaro RS convertible was in an accident. They did an excellent job fixing and I have been a loyal customer ever since and recommended them frequently to family and friends. Fast forward to today, I will be 70 in a few days. I was involved in a car accident on May 16 of this year and the front end of Nissan Armada needed to be replaced, including the hood. My car remained at their shop and parking lot for at least a month. When I finally got it back, I noticed it was out of gas which is unusual because I never let it go below half a tank. I immediately took it to the gas station to get gas, and my gas cap cover would not open. It was fine before I took it in, I immediately took it back to Dutch Valley and told them what had happened. They were able to pry it open and told me that didn't know how long it would work. Not long afterwards my battery went dead. When I opened the hood, it slammed shut. It was fine before I took it in and as I said before the entire front end needed to be replaced. Now recently I took the car back because the gas cap cover would not open again. I met with my consultant Matt Steinman. I explained to him what was happening with my car, and he proceeded to tell me, "Those parts just wear out". I told him that, that was not the case, and I expected them to at least fix my gas cap cover so I could put gas in it at their expense as something happened to it while they had it. It was around 8:00 in the morning and I called back at 3:00 pm. I asked Matt if my car was ready. What I heard back was unbelievable. Mr. Steinman told me he opened the door but refused to fix it because I expected them to pay for it. He was extremely arrogant and told me to pick up my I had always held Dutch Valley in high esteem for their work and friendliness. Boy have times changed. I will NEVER recommend them to anyone, and Mr. Steinman certainly does not want my business. What a disappointment!
