Complaint:
I have bought your President Maasdam 48% at Carrefour Tbilisi (Isani branch) Carrefour and the taste lacks any hint of the characteristic nuttiness which Maasdam cheeses should have. Your President salted butter, on the other hand is great. I shall write to Carrefour and also mention this to their local Manager. The batch bar code was applied in Georgia, and the selling window was 23 - 30 January 2020. There are no original French markings on the cheese, it appears to have been cut up in Georgia and given local packaging by Carrefour. I would love a refund but I do not expect the Georgians to do this. I would like the Manager at Isani to taste the cheese and send it back to France for analysis. Cost 10 Lari or about 3 Euros. Bought two days ago and tasted today. Informed President Cheese distributor in Europe as well. While I am here may I draw attention to the chaotic ordering strategy at Carrefour Isani: good products come in from France but are not retained long enough for Customer preferences to kick in. A very good oven cleaner spray (black) was withdrawn and has become unavailable. The Red Pesto which was originally made by Carrefour as an own product was not replaced for a long while but has come back with a Basil content of only 7.1% and is not really tasty enough to qualify as Pesto. In the interim, an Italian product was available but it was too oily and not properly sealed and on one occasion caused damage to my clothes when I was transporting it, unopened, as a gift. Carrefour Isani make pizza slices, but they do not use a proper pizza dough nor give the pizza-making process the right temperatures and timing: the result is pizza slices which have a bottom crust that is essentially like cardboard. Also there is no menu (the different types available) nor any real expertise from the rather glum ladies making the product. They were also in no way bothered not to be stocking Brie or Camenbert in the cheeses section (there is some Brie in one of the freezers but a little expensive). It is a very friendly and enjoyable store but it lacks a certain professionalism in both attitudes and management - on the side of efficiency and taking responsibility rather than on the side of staff attitudes, which are mainly positive.
