CareingtonBeware! Auto renewal no refund

They will auto renew your policy $129. 00 without notice and did not offer to refund the money when i contacted them a few days after they charged my credit card even after i had changed my credit card number they still charged me without any notice! I am having to dispute the charge through american express in hopes of getting a refund. Carrington also did this to me last year and i didn't catch it. Over $250 for nothing and awful customer service with no offer of a refund of any kind! Beware beware don't do business with this company.

    I cancelled my membership recently and they are giving me the run around.. March 6 I joined with careington and Monday I cancelled because I have 30 days to cancel.. They told me it is cancelled and I will see my refund 2 days after.. No refund.. I called them and they said they have to investigate it.. What's there to investigate? I cancelled within 30 days and they are still giving me the runaround..

    One more comment. Per Careington in the above comment: "We do send our members renewal notices 30 days in advance of the automatic renewal of your membership, " We never received that notice.

    I've been dealing with the same problem with Careington. We had a policy with them for one year and I have no complaints about their coverage but you can't stop them from charging you for a renewal. They auto charged me another $129.00 in 11/12 and I called to have the charge cancelled as soon as I saw the charge on my Visa statement. I was told that I could received a prorated refund. That was not acceptable to me because I cancelled immediately after seeing the charge and never used the program since the renewal. The person I spoke to at Careington told me that I could receive a full refund if I sent an email to [email protected] with my policy # requesting a full refund. During a joint call with Careington and Visa they told us that only a partial refund was available. They would not provide a reference number or even a direct # to call to Visa or me. "Wendy" said that anyone who answered the phone there could help us.

    I received an email reply from them but to read it I have to open an account with "Your Encrypted Message eXchange Activation Information".

    The person handling this contested charge at my Chase Visa is annoyed too. This company is a rip off!!

As stated in our membership agreement, your annual membership will renew each year unless you contact us to cancel either in writing or by phone. We do send our members renewal notices 30 days in advance of the automatic renewal of your membership, and we apologize if there was any confusion about the nature of your online membership or membership fee.
