Car Hopyou lied and said you would fix it now you wont

In november 2008 I bought a 98 ford explore, it was sold to me as a AWD Vehicle I told car hop that I wouldn't buy it cause it had a front end problem they called me saying if we fix it will you buy it I said yes if you fix it. so I pick it up on that sat and was to take it to tire city in independence mo on monday so I did the mechanic called me telling me that it was missing the front drive shaft and that my warrenty covered it so they put it in. while the truck was in the shop they did fix the other things that they said they would fix that wasn't covered under my warrenty as what they told me they would do I was much indeed very happy. I had to take the truck back and forth to tire city 5 times until everything was done the right way when I picked it up that 5th time I noticed that there was still the same noise in the front end and the mechanic said that it was a 4x4 and suppose to make that noise and there was nothing wrong with my truck unsatisfied I drove it back and forth to work on my way to work one day driving 70mph the truck still shaking like it did when I bought it which I did also tell them about felt like I was driving on 4 flat tires I was told to contact the manager of indep. car hop store when something was wrong so I did he sent me a text saying "why do women old contact me when they need something" I wrote back THERE IS SERIOUSLY SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY TRUCK! he responded with " yeah well so is my life" and he said call me so I did explained what it was doing he told me to call service which I did they said take it to the shop. I took it back to tire city and the fixed the rear end and back tires, he called said it was ready I go get it. again the truck still made this sound and shaked while driving it I called service and they said take it to the shop I took it to 3 of there shops and got SEVERAL different things that was wrong with it finally while driving home one night from work the sound got louder so it was TOWED to Excell Auto where once again your all's mechanic told me that I had a bad ujoint you all fixed and that the front drive shaft was bad he called told service and they said that they weren't going to pay for it to be fixed. I don't understand why not cause in my contract this is what my warrenty says under number 3. THE COVERED PARTS INCLUDE: ENGINE-ALL LUBRICATED PARTS, INTAKE MANIFOLDS, ENGINE BLOCK, ROTARY ENGINE HOUSINGS, RING GEAR, CYLINDER HEADS, FUEL PUMP, OIL PUMP, TIMING GEARS AND CHAIN, VALVE COVERS AND WATER PUMP; <br />
I am totally pissed off that I am fighting with car hop to make my vehilce right and they wont do it when they said they would. Want to hear something funny is according to my vin # it is suppose to be a 2wd but you CAR HOP sold it to me and states on my contract that it's a AWD vehicle so HMM sounds like breech of contract please tell me what needs to be done here? <br />

    Really?! Are you being serious right now?? LMFAO!! You probably work there!! Wouldn't surprise me at all actually because the way your talking is just how they would talk to the customers that came in :) rude and completely disrespectful

    HUGE RIP OFF AND WASTE OF TIME!!! I sent them this in an email to corporate.. We will see if anything actually get changed but I doubt it..?.

    To whom actually cares: 

    I was at the carhop in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday and I am not at all happy with how I was treated". I had set up an appointment that day for 12 noon and when I got there I was with my husband and 19month old son". I was told the items I needed to bring and that it would only take about 90min for the approval process'. This was all fine with me I just wanted to know if I could be approved for the Jeep Cherokee out front!. (My original question to them was just how much was the SUV and then they told me about the carhop process not anything about the price;.) When I arrived at 12 noon for my appointment this is where everything started to go wrong;. No one greeted us or even said anything to me or my husband until I found someone in the office eating". There were multiple people in the lobby area but they were either customers waiting as well at desks or filling out the applications. After 45min after my scheduled time they tell me they can help me start the application process.. I don't know why I even made an appointment if they weren't going to honor it. I start filling out the application by myself on their computers since apparently the people you hire don't have to and had to go hunt someone down everytime I needed to go to the next section. I am extremely irritated at this point but moving on.. I was told the application process would only take 90min.. I was there filling out this application for 3 hours!! Thats not including the 45min I spent waiting for them to figure out what was going on.. By this time I have no more patience left in me. My son is throwing temper tantrums because he is tired and we have been there now for almost 4 hours! I am tired of waiting and it appears that no one at the place cares how long I have been here and how pissed off I am getting!!  As I am getting up and getting ready to leave I tell them they can call me when they figure out of I am approved or not they tell me I have been approved but I need to put down $1000 down payment. This is a 1999 Jeep worth maybe at its best $4000... They also told me that the payments per month would be double what I told them I could afford, which was $250, with a total price of $10, 000! $10, 000?! Are you kidding me?! That is more than double what the Jeep is worth and it wasn't in great condition at all!! I wasted 4 hours of my ONLY day off in 2 weeks to get absolutely nothing but disrespect in return. Your supposed to be helping people with credit issues not ripping them off! I will never EVER go back to carhop and I am advising anyone else who is buying a car that I know of to do the same because this was absolutely ridiculous.

    P.S.  I have also recently read customer reviews on the *********** location as well as others... I am very disappointed to tell you that I am not the only one who has these exact same complaints!  I just wish I read them BEFORE I chose to waste my valuable time.

    my husband bought a 99 ford explorer 2010 in florissant, mo not even a year yet went to go get safety and emission test done and both failed it look like someone died under there it was so rusty it look horrible the mech said it will be about 1200 dollars the car by kelly blue book is only 2000 dollars but my husband have 4000 dollars to go

    i can completely relate to your complaints. When i purchased my vehicle from carhop, there was a note on my purchase agreement that the bumper was supposed to be fixed. however, when i called to set up an appointment, the salesmen would put me on hold and say they will call me back. I would not here from them again. i kept calling, and then i called the service department. They told me they had no record of that agreement. I faxed the copy of the agreement and i never heard back from the service department. After i kept calling they finally told me that you only have a two week window for such reparis and that there is nothing they can do about it.
    I know it is just a bumper but the point i am trying to drive accross is that is how carhop does business. Please think twice before purchasing a vehicle from them

    i brought a car from car hop in florissant mo they said car pass inspection but the horn don't work so tell me how hell did this car pass talk to manger there very very ugly man told me that's to bad. people please don't go there they are no no good the black manger is so mean and ugly.     We had similar issues with the fuel pump in our car we bought from them. Thank god that purchase built my credit so I can now buy from reputable dealers.

    Long story short, here is how car hop operates. First like the lady says above. you go in first thing they want to do is get you approved. You don't look at cars or anything they get your credit done. Then with no real explanation they tell you what cars you can choose from. All of these cars will cost you exactly the same. (around 2x blue book value) You can not choose a cheaper car or even a more expensive one and pay the difference, we had about 5 choices.

    So we pick one of our 5 choices, looks nice, is clean. I ask about the AC and they tell me it works. I ask if there's any known problems, they assure me its been to the reconditioning center and there are no issues with the vehicle. Well the next day the brakes make a horrible noise in the back, sounds like a dying duck. Car Hop says its not their problem we bought the car. Then March comes it gets a little warm, and i am in the drive thru at a restaurant, its warm...AC only blows hot. Once again not their problem even though he lied to me and said it worked, 2 days later still not even licensed the car, it dies and has to be towed. Fuel pump is out. We have to pay for the tow but the fuel pump is covered. As stated above their policy is to replace your broken part with used parts. (not reconditioned.. USED) A used fuel pump usually doesn't work since used parts come from wrecks, and the fuel pump dies to avoid fires. it took 15 or so calls and over 3 weeks for them to finally decide they would allow the shop to put in a new fuel pump. The mechanic tells us about why used ones don't work and that he had tried 3 before we finally got the new one approved.

    And that was the short version.

    I just purchased my car from Blaine, MN back in September 2009, right away there was front end trouble, they fixed it all was good until now. My transmission is going out on me, I had it tested and the mechanic said I will call caphop and get you another tranny. Two weeks later I get a call telling me that the tranny they sent was bad. Well I only have less then 300 miles left on my warranty. So I call carhop and explained my concern and all I got was "We don't feel we need to send out new parts or rebuilt ones, the way we do it works just fine and we have very few issues" I could not beleive what he was telling me. So basically, I spent $10 grand on a pile of crap and the warranty won't do me any good because they pull used parts from junkers that might not be any better than the part being replaced.

    I was at the Car Hop in Des Moines Iowa today saturday june 25th at 1:00 p.m. The manager of the lot was standing right inthe middle of the doorway I had to walk around him to get inside. Once inside the first thing that the salesman said to me "Have you ever had so much to eat the you are in pain that's where I'm at right now". He never bother to say who he was at all just asked for my info after I gave it to him it was photocopied. As we was talking I was told "well ultimatly you have no choice in what you buy it's decided for you" when I told him that " no ultimatly I do decide what I buy or don't buy" I was told no it don't work that way here. In the end I was first told by the salesman "just get the hell out of here then" I left just out side the door I turned around went back in to get the copies that they had made of my info it was returned to me the mangaer came in and told me also "get the hell out of here" which I was more than ready to leave and never return again. I filed a complaint with the attorny general's office in the Hoover bulding 2nd floor consumer affairs. I strongly urge anyone else in the state of Iowa to who has had problems with this place to do the same. They (attorney general) said that if there was enough complaints that the state would check into revocking car hops license to do bussiiness in the state of iowa. If anyone does file with iowa you would also need to file one in minnasota (st paul) and in washington state car hop headquaters are in tacoma washington. The capitol there is in Olypmpia, Wa Let's put this place out of bussiness and do it now.

    I was told the same thing. Will u purchase if we fix the oil leak. We where told the Warranty company would fix the leak so we Purchased the Car. Yeah Now i'm fighting the Warranty company to fix and they won't let me go to another mech unless i pay for the 2 nd opinion. Really that Dont work for me. The mech they sent me to told them that the oil leak was normal . I have had 3 mech laugh at me when i told them what the Midwest mech told me...All i want is my car fixed like they told me they would. Please email me at [email protected] if any one has any idea's I will be making a report to the BBB of minnesota at least they will have it on there record for 3 years and i will try to make sure it stays on longer.
