Dear Budget Direct,
I am writing again regarding my complaint, C2604300205, because the short correspondence so far clearly has not been enough to get this matter properly addressed.
I want to make my position very clear.
I am a paying customer. Without customers, there is no insurance business. Yet throughout this matter, I feel that I have been treated as though my questions, concerns and circumstances simply do not matter.
I am not directing this criticism at your customer service staff. The people I have dealt with personally are doing their jobs, and this letter is not an attack on them.
My frustration is with the way this matter is being handled at the decision-making and legal level.
I have repeatedly raised what I believe is a very simple and important question.
If the owner of the other vehicle maintains that they did not give anyone permission to take or drive their vehicle, then why is that not being properly pursued as an alleged unauthorised taking or use of that vehicle?
I have never claimed that I know who took or drove that vehicle. I do not know.
But I also do not accept that it somehow becomes my responsibility to investigate what happened to somebody else's vehicle.
If the owner maintains that nobody had permission to take or drive their vehicle, then surely it is for that owner to report and pursue that matter, and for the police to determine what happened, whether an offence occurred, and whether anybody can be identified or charged.
Instead, from my perspective, nothing appears to be happening with that fundamental issue, while I am left dealing with the consequences.
That is what I find so frustrating and unfair.
I have raised my concerns. I have asked questions. I have made a formal complaint. I have given Budget Direct the opportunity to explain its position properly.
What I want now is not another generic response.
I want a clear written answer addressing the actual issue I have raised.
Please explain why, if the other vehicle owner maintains that their vehicle was taken or driven without their permission, Budget Direct does not consider that matter something that should be formally reported, investigated and resolved rather than simply leaving the consequences with me.
I also want to make something else clear.
Customers deserve to be treated with respect, particularly when they are disputing a decision that has real financial consequences for them. I should not have to keep chasing an insurance company simply to get a direct answer to a direct question.
I have tried to deal with this properly and reasonably.
I now expect Budget Direct to do the same.
Regards,
Ralf Schmidt
