I want to share my personal experience with Budget Direct so other people can see what has happened and make up their own minds.
I had an insurance claim where I maintained that I was not at fault. Budget Direct told me that because they did not have the full details of the other driver, they would not treat the claim as not-at-fault and an excess would apply.
I disputed this decision.
Budget Direct then offered to reduce my excess by $450 as a goodwill gesture. I did not accept or reject that offer because I wanted the actual issue properly reviewed.
At the same time, I was dealing with a renewal premium of $3,582.06, which I also asked Budget Direct to review.
A formal complaint was opened: C2604300205.
I provided my position and asked Budget Direct for a proper written response explaining their decision and addressing my complaint.
And since then? No proper response. No resolution. I’m still waiting.
I’m sharing this because I believe customers should be able to see how an insurance company handles a customer when there is a dispute—not only the advertising used to sell the policy.
This complaint describes my own experience and correspondence with Budget Direct. I’m not telling anyone which insurer they should or shouldn’t use. Read what happened to me and make up your own mind.
If Budget Direct properly resolves my complaint, I will update this complaint publicly and say so.
Until then, this is where things stand.
Desired outcome: A clear written response addressing the actual issue raised, a proper review of complaint C2604300205, and a fair resolution of the claim and renewal concerns.
