Boscov's Department Store review: Cashier

On September 24,2026 at approximately 12:20 P.M. we were waiting to check out at The York Galleria Store. There was a lady who was making a return and two of us in line.

The Cashier in the Misses/Petite area was very rude to the young lady making a return. The lady did not do or say anything to this cashier and was cooperating answering questions. The cashier grabbed the bag from the lady and after a few minutes snapped at the Woman. This cashier made some comment that she didn't need any attitude that she was busy. The lady didn't even say anything to this cashier. All she did was look back at those of us waiting to checkout and smiled as if to apologize for taking so long. After this cashier snapped at the lady making the return the Customer asked for the Cashier's name as she wasn't wearing a name badge. The Cashier told her I'm not giving you, my name.
I nearly left my merchandise and left the store. I was angry how this Cashier treated this person, so I finished my purchase at another register and learned the rude Cashier's name was Joyce. I asked to speak to a manager as I wished to file a complaint. This cashier requested a manager for an employee complaint but was apparently told the manager was busy.
I heard this cashier ask if the manager would come to her register when she was finished? Apparently, the manager wasn't concerned enough that they would speak to me when she completed whatever task she was doing?
It's bad enough dealing with a rude employee but then to also have a manager that doesn't want to be bothered and wouldn't speak to a customer just adds to the problem.
Hopefully you will address these problems at your York Galleria Store? This was uncalled for. If this cashier was overwhelmed dealing with a total of three people at her register, what will she be like if she truly gets busy? I believe this cashier needs to find another line of work if this how she treats customers. Maybe the manager needs a refreshment in what a manager's duties are?

I worked dealing with the public for over 40 years and was also in management. I would not have had a job had I acted like this cashier or not made an effort to address a complaint.
