On February 8, 2026, I first attempted to activate a TCT Linkzone 2(MW243TM), a mobile wifi unit. I paid $11.78(was not informed this was set up on "autopay) and was told a SIM card would be mailed to me. I recd the SIM card, inserted it and it would not activate. I was told by customer service that it was the wrong SIM card and they would send me another. I recd another SIM card and still, it would not activate. I called customer service and they said they would have to transfer me to their security department. I got disconnected two different times during that call, getting nothing resolved in a four hour time period. I then drove to a Medford Boost store, @1560 Biddle Rd, Medford, OR and spoke with a manager, who informed me that Boost no longer was supporting mobile wifi data units. I had him cancel the account and he also said good luck on getting my $11.78 back so I figured I would eat the charge and forgot about it.
Fast forward to Oct 19, 2026, I was going over credit card bills and thought it was odd that this one credit card had a high balance, because I rarely use it and there were charges all the way up to Oct 9, 2026 from Boost mobile. 3 months @ $11.78, 1 month @ $26.85, 1 month(June)no billing charge and July through Oct @ $26.86. These charges were not authorized as I was under the impression that the account was closed. Boost does not do mobile wifi units, period.
I was going out of town , so I was unable to call them until today October 26, 2026 and I was transfered from one department to another and back, including the Security department, having to reiterate the information four different times, only to be told that no refund would be issued because I authorized the charges by not closing the account. But I did, I thought, back in February. They said they would now close the account. (!) After I hung up from them, I went back online to see if the account was truly closed. It was not. I had to manually cancel it as it was open and ready to autopay Nov 8, 2026! Even after I canceled it, it said it would remain open until Nov 9, 2026, the day AFTER my autopay was scheduled! Imagine that. I have wasted so much time and effort and $($169.63) with this company and got absolutely nothing. No service, no refund, NOTHING. What a nightmare. If Boost mobile was the last carrier on earth, I wouldn't use them. This has been a horrible experience, right down to having to write this 2550 letter complaint.
Claimed loss: $169.63 and hours of wasted time
Desired outcome: All I wanted was my money back for service I never received.
