Entire experience
From the moment i arrived this was a disaster waiting to happen. I recoded everything and took photos. From being wheeled into er and the paramedic stating loud and clear that i was a dnr. Really…then jumping to induce me before my dr was informed what they were trying to do. They must miss that pandemic money because they were quick to assess intubation...

Emergency visit
I visited Boca Raton Regional Hospital because my heart palpitations were over 130 BPM. I don't smoke, drink or have any diagnosed condition. When I arrived, the staff had treated me like that though. I was severely dehydrated (something my cardiologist in Colombia explained very well) after they did so many tests (including blood work, even a XRay on my chest), and they denied me any water, telling me I would have to wait until the doctor could see me. I suddenly started feeling worse and decided to leave because of this treatment and check myself out. Unfortunately, I had to return two days later because my heart condition continued. Since they already had done so many tests, I thought it was right to go back and save myself the trouble. This time, I hydrated myself before having to go there. However, they gave me no information that could help. I was injected with 2.5 MG of Lorazepam like I was someone with anxiety. I never had anxiety nor do I have an anxiety condition. My dad, who is a doctor in Colombia, was furious after all this and rushed me to Colombia to be seen by a cardiologist, a vascular and electrophysiology doctors. They helped me there and explained what was happening to me. Meanwhile I couldn't get the test results from Boca Raton Hospital even after one week. I paid them all the money they billed me, but now, the doctor I never saw on April 22nd is sending me a new bill with a code change so I have to pay him $400. It's not the money that made me write this complaint, but the fact that I have doctors who backed me up with the way I am feeling for the treatment or not treatment at that horrible hospital. I will be posting and telling more people about my experience.

Claimed loss: A lot money and having to travel overseas to get help. Meanwhile it's hard to trust the medical professionals in this country.

Patient care
ems picked up elderly patient from home took her to boca regional emergency room elderly, cardiac symptoms and fainting was placed on a wheelchair in waiting room from ambulance patient was triaged on a wheelchair in waiting room when asked why this is done the staff said no bed available in er. A bed was assigned 2 hrs later because family showed concerns and patient with signs of fainting and confused
When patient was transferred to 5th floor for evaluation admission the hospitalist stopped one of the patient’s important treatment drugs without communication with patient. Patient was transferred to an another floor for a longer stay spent 2 days there no one helped her with hygiene care or clean the room and changes her bed. No showers in bathroom bathroom not cleaned family membered not allowed to stay to help.
Desired outcome: ems should stay in contact with hospitals before delivering patients. If no bed is available take patient to hospital with available beds. Patient was an elderly cardiac patient
Medical Records
When BRHC was a regional hospital it was easy to get medical records on time. Now, with Baptist they use Verismo who cannot ever loate my medical records. Some mumbo jumbo with 'time window' or somethng and now I have to wait up to 6 weeks to go in person to get the records.
I DO NOT WANT A MUMBO JUMBO PHONE CALL AS I HAVE HAD PLENTLY OF THEM. The explanations given to me about access to OPD records is just totally opaque.
I do not see why I have to wait a month or 6 weeks to get records. You should be ashamed to have such a patient unfriendly system/
Desired outcome: Fis the G*d Da*n system

short term disability breach of contract
I am an RN previously employed almost 14 years at this hospital. I became ill with a severe chronic disabling illness in August, 2013 leaving me unable to work. I had short term disability via the hospital as an employee benefit. Despite extensive documentation in support of my disability submitted by several of my treating providers the hospital refuses to pay my claim. The hospital had the right to send me for an independent medical exam however instead my file was sent for a "paper review" to two doctors who do not specialize in my condition. I was also informed not to bother appealing as they will not pay my claim. This has resulted in foreclosure proceedings against me, the loss of my car, etc. This is reprehensible.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
