BioLife Plasma Services - Intake physical personnel

November 20, 2024 visit to donate plasma. Drove a good way to get there for my appointment only to find that the first physical intake person made a mistake on my file that caused me not to be able to donate for the second time. I take responsibility for the first wasted trip because they said I didn't eat enough (I ha my usual breakfast of biscuits and chicken but that wasn't enough. That intake person made a mistake or typo on one of the questions that caused me to waste another trip — time, gas, etc. I have never been given the 'run around' like this anywhere. One of them tells you some obscure rule and the other tells you something else. It is unacceptable to treat people who are there to donate plasma in this way. Just pure ineptitude, unprofessional and unsanitary. This is very, very sad as plasma donation is so important for medical and research purposes. I will never go there again and highly recommend anyone else find another way to donate. Disgusting way to treat people.

Biolife Plasma Services can be contacted directly through their support and you can detail there your visits and the errors that occurred. Emphasize on time, money, and misleading details provided to you which were inconsistent. Demand why this happened, demand more suitable training for employees, and issue an apology for the trouble caused.

BioLife Plasma Services - Denied donation

I visited BioLife a few weeks ago to see about starting to donate. After I went through the questionnaire, health assessment and interview, I was deffered because I have Biopolar II. I was told I couldn't donate until I had my psychiatrist fill out a form clearing me to donate. I went throught their required process and a few days after the form was faxed to them, I received a call. They told me that because I joked about not telling them about my bipolar during the interview process that I still couldn't donate. So I wasted over an hour at their office and wasted my psychiatrist's time sending in a form. I was still denied because of a joke I said during the interview.

I called to speak to one of their managers. She told me that I was deemed "unreliable" due to my joke during the interview. One, bipolar shouldn't have anything to do with donating plasma. Two, they have a list of my medications and the form from my doctor indicating I'm ok to donate. How can a joke overrule having records from my psychiatrist? Also, this joke was told during the interview. Why didn't they tell me then that I wasn't going to be allowed to donate?

There is nothing on their web site about this. I was never told during the interview that I needed to be careful of what I said. They have wasted my time and wasted my psychiatrist's time. They talk about needing the plasma so badly, but they just turned away a healthy person because of a joke.

Don't waste your time with them. I went through a lot of effort only to be denied because of a joke.

Desired outcome: Warn others about this horrible company.
