About a year ago we bought a house in Omaha Nebraska after moving from Texas. We hired a real estate broker from Berkshire Hathaway here in Omaha. Her name was Carla Maas, an agent who had sold our house in Omaha 6 years earlier. She included a home warranty in our closing which we paid for $850. She said it was a preferred vendor with Berkshire Hathaway...

Berkshire Hathaway Review: Berkshire Hathaway - A Diverse and Philanthropic Investment Powerhouse

Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. (berkshirehathaway.com) is a great company that truly knows how to make some dough! Their portfolio is chock-full of successful companies like Fruit of the Loom, Duracell, and Geico Insurance. The famous investor Warren Buffett is the brains behind the operation and he's been making savvy investments for decades. I think it's really cool that they have a diverse group of companies under their umbrella. It just shows how much they really know about business.

One thing I noticed when I was browsing their website is that they have a really cool annual meeting called the "Woodstock for Capitalists". I bet that's a blast! They also do a lot of philanthropic work and have donated billions of dollars to various charities. It's really nice to see a company that cares about more than just profits.

All in all, I think Berkshire Hathaway is a great company to invest in. I mean, if Warren Buffett is backing them, then you know they must be doing something right! Just don't try to split your rent with Deb McDermott in Grand Island, she's a real piece of work.

Berkshire Hathaway Shady Business Practices of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. in Their Workmans' Comp Services

I done got workmans' comp for my company through Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. Let me tell ya, these people are a little shady. They charged us a lot of money at the end of the year, even though we paid them every month based on our employees' earnings. They wanted 2/3rds of what our employees made - can you believe that?
I been asking them for a signed contract that says I gotta pay a "minimum" but they won't show it to me. These guys are trying to bully me into paying them more money than I agreed to. They can't be trusted. They haven't even tried to show me any hidden fees because they're just straight up thieves.
I've been on the phone with them trying to get some proof, but as soon as I start asking questions they'll hang up on me. That ain't professional at all.
Just be careful if you're thinking about getting anything from Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. 'cause they're not very ethical.

Berkshire Hathaway Stay Away from Berkshire Hathaway Insurance: Horrible Experience with Claims

I gotta say, I've had some pretty bad experiences with insurance companies in my life, but Berkshire Hathaway takes the cake. Let me tell you, I never thought I'd have to question the integrity of a company like this, but here we are.

So here's what went down. I had a claim because of something that wasn't even my fault, and it took forever to get resolved. When I talked to the adjusters (and believe me, I had to talk to a lot of them), they didn't seem to care at all. I had to keep contacting them and trying to get to the next person in charge just to move things forward. It was a real hassle.

And let me tell you, communication was a problem, too. They said they'd call me back and email me, but most of the time they never did. I get that we're in a pandemic and all, but come on. It took over half a year just to get my claim sorted out. It's ridiculous.

Now, I didn't even know about this company before I had to deal with them, but I looked up some reviews after the fact and it turns out I'm not alone. Lots of other people seem to have had similar problems with these guys.

Anyway, I finally got my claim resolved, but I have to wonder: if I hadn't kept pushing, would it still be in limbo? Who knows? I'm just glad it's all over with. Word to the wise: maybe think twice before going with Berkshire Hathaway.

Berkshire Hathaway Review of Rental Experience with Berkshire Hathaway Inc. - Poor Management and Lack of Professionalism

Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. (berkshirehathaway.com) has been in business for quite some time and is a company that requires more attention before associating with them. I had a rather unpleasant experience as their renter, where I had to deal with a property manager who barely communicated. They would never respond to any emails, texts or phone calls, not even to acknowledge their receipt. If they had to ask for something from me, then they would contact me immediately. Any other times, they were non-existent. When I reached out to their supervisor, my emails were never replied to. It took more than a month to get a reply, and that too, only after calling and threatening to involve a supervisor.

Once I occupied the house, I faced problems with the property's maintenance issue which was resolved after four days. However, I wasn't refunded the per diem for the first four days. The property manager promised several maintenance works which were never carried out even after a year. That is not all, the company is quick to demand security deposits from renters, but takes their own time to return them. They claim that they have 45 days to deposit it back, and once they do, they try to nickel and dime renters for normal wear and tear. They also falsely claim that the house needs cleaning even if it's left in a better state than it was rented.

In conclusion, it is challenging to associate with Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Their management is awful, and they lack courtesy and professionalism. Their Central Park in Fredericksburg, VA is one to stay clear from. If one is looking to rent or associate with Berkshire Hathaway, then one must do their research thoroughly.

Berkshire Hathaway Beware of Renting from Berkshire Hathaway - Unprofessional Property Manager and Rigid Policies

I got a chance to rent a property from Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. for a good couple of years - it was quite an experience. The first thing that I noticed was that the property was given to me in a dirty state. The carpet was stained, and there were a lot of things to be swept away from the yard. I assumed that everything would be fixed by the time I was moving in, but I was disappointed. However, I went on with the move-in thinking everything would eventually be alright.

Now, I must say, I paid my rent on time, and there were months that I even paid in advance. One thing that I did not like was how they rigidly stuck to their policies. I understand that when purchasing a home, you can't get out of your lease agreement, but it was unfair to give a 90-day notice before moving out. It was a very far stretch, and I was not even sure that I'd have closed on my new home within that time frame.

When it was time for me to move out, the property manager, Kimber Davenport, gave me a lot of issues. I must say that I was quite disappointed in her because I had expected better. I found her utterly unprofessional from the beginning, and it was an uphill task trying to get her to fix things in the house that were normal wear and tear. She only communicated through email, which was all threats and complaints, and showed no attempt to resolve any issues or concerns that I had.

I was baffled at how she expected me to have things done to the property that were not even done before I moved in. To add salt to the wound, I left the property way cleaner than how it was given to me, but she still gave me a headache. At this point, I feel like she was money-hungry, which is entirely unacceptable.

I cannot recommend renting from this company to anyone. You will get more than what you bargained for. You have been warned!

Berkshire Hathaway Unfortunate Experience with Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate: A Cautionary Tale

I remember finding my dream townhouse about two and a half years ago in southeast Colorado Springs. It had everything I wanted- spacious square footage, a finished basement and more! After thoroughly researching, I found that Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. was the seller agent. However, I had to bid $30k over their desired asking price of $220k. The appraisal report came back alright, but my agent from Coldwell Banker of Denver thought that the inspection from Berkshire Hathaway was enough so, I trusted her instinct.

Just weeks after moving in, I started to notice changes that needed to be made. My stove, refrigerator, water heater, garage door motor, and sump pump all needed repairs or replacements. Although there were some cosmetic changes, I needed to pay completely for everything that went wrong after the inspection from Berkshire. I thought that Berkshire Hathaway would help me, since I decided to trust their inspection instead of getting another one, but their response was "buyer beware" and that the house was already mine.

I used to live in Aurora, CO for about 5 years with my late husband, who passed away in the house. After his death and financial trouble, I decided to move closer to my son who lived in Colorado Springs. The money I saved from selling the Aurora house was all I had to make my new townhouse as perfect as I wanted. However, all the repairs added up to about $15k - and since that was all that was left of the money I had saved up, I decided to move instead of dealing with more repairs.

I have now prepared the house for market in early fall, where I can recover my losses and move forward.

Berkshire Hathaway Negative Experience with Berkshire Hathaway's Real Estate Agent Jeff: Hidden Issues and Poor Customer Service

I recently had a negative experience with Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. (berkshirehathaway.com) when purchasing a home through their real estate agent, Jeff. My husband and I were interested in 6225 McCords in Alto Michigan and made an offer of 356,000. However, we had to pay 590.00 for an inspection that revealed several issues the seller did not disclose.

Jeff assured us that fixing the issues, such as adding screens to the chimney and fixing the flue, would only cost a total of 575.00. But when I contacted a chimney company, they quoted me 3,500 to 7,000 for fixing the flue alone. Furthermore, the caps for the chimney were priced at 300.00 to 400.00 each and the screens at 75.00 each.

When we asked the seller to fix the issues, Jeff made it seem like we were asking for too much and even belittled me. I felt it was unfair to pay so much more than the asking price for a home with so many hidden issues, especially since it would lead to water damage and animal infestation.

To add insult to injury, it was difficult to get our earnest deposit back from Berkshire Hathaway as they delayed releasing it for two weeks. Jim Face, the broker, was of no help and seemed to not care about us as clients. It felt like they gave jobs to people whose dads were in the real estate business and they did not care about getting us the funds.

Overall, I would not recommend Jeff or Berkshire Hathaway to any home buyer. My experience was not respectful and I would not want anyone else to be treated the same way. If they had a review section, I would leave my feedback because it was unacceptable.
