On 06/04/2023 I purchased a 2010 Dodge Caliber from Benji Auto of Orlando. It was on a Sunday and they said the car just came in and they would give me a good deal on it. But it had no power steering working and the windshield was cracked all the way across. The told me I could call them during the week and set up a time to bring the car in and they would make the repairs. As I left the dealership I heard a banging sound coming from the back end of the car so I figured I would let them know when I brought the car back for the repairs they said they would do. So I tried on the next day to call them but got no answer. Tried several times and finally got someone but was put on hold and nobody ever came back on the line. Went through this for weeks and never got anywhere. Two weeks after having the car I recieved a bill from Epass stating that my plate # was recorded go though a toll several months prior to me buying the car and I had to pay $36 I called DMV and they advised me to go a get a new plate because something fishy was going on with the dealership. I went the next day and received a new plate from DMV. I tried for several months to get the car in for repairs that they said they would do and never could get anything accomplished. I continue to pay monthly for the car because I needed transportation and I ended up making the repairs myself. Then sometime late in 2025 I got a flat tire going to work. I fixed the tire but the next day the same thing happened to me but on the opposite side of the car. While fixing the tire I noticed the reared broke away from the frame on the right side and the whole rear axle was just flopping around. I spent several days trying to get ahold of Benji Auto to no Avail. Finally I got through to someone after call every Benji Dealer that was in Florida. I explained my situation and they said yes the car was still under warranty and to have it towed to a repair shop and have the shop make an estimate and have them contact them. After doing that the repair shop said the car was unrepairable because the whole back frame was all rotted and unsafe for the road. Benji called me back and said they wouldn’t pay for anything and I had to continue making payments monthly to them. I asked for a replacement car but they refused to issue me one. The frame was rotten on the car from day one when I got it from them. That was the banging I heard when I left the dealership but I could never get ahold of anyone to set up an appointment to bring the car in for service. Now my license is suspended because I dropped the insurance on the car in September 2025 and I refuse to make the monthly payments to bingo Auto. Now they have me in collections and want me to pay for a car they sold me that is unfit for the road and can’t be fixed. It’s costing me money to get my license back that I just found out today are suspended because I canceled the insurance on the car. The car was at the repair shop last I know because the repair shop wanted me to pay for doing tests and looking at what was wrong with it. The car was under warranty so benji auto should be responsible for paying .
Claimed loss: $11,000
