On March 3, 2026 (Job #365616) Beacon Plumbing came to our home in Lake Forest Park for a boiler with no heat. We asked for the diagnostic fee when scheduling and were told it “depends,” so no price was given up front. After ~2 hours, the technician could not restart the boiler and pushed a full replacement quoted at $22,744.85 as the only follow up option. Only after the the work the technician presented us with a $429.46 diagnostic charge, but tricked us to initial under fine lines that they gave us cost before the work begin. We got a second opinion later: their fee was diagnostic fee up front was given upfront on our first call and were much more reasonable. The technician came promptly, restored the heat in ~15 minutes (tripped fuse + rotted thermostat battery connection). Follow-up communication with Beacon was unprofessional. We will not use them again.
