This hospital causes the death of our Dad. What started out as a simple gallstone issue became a bile duct injury , bile leak ,they put a hole in his intestine and he developed multiple infections , ended up having major surgery , and passed away July 14,2026, 55 days after going there. He passed away with Renal failure , Sepsis,bile leak,bile duct injury.

I was scheduled for cataract surgery March 2022, but was cancelled for August 9, 2022 and a co-payment of $120.00 was made. On August 8, 2022 in the evening, the registration department called and stated a payment of $120.00 needed to be paid before the surgery because the previous payment was refunded by mail on August 3, 2022. Needless to say the surgery was cancelled. Why was the payment refunded on August 3, 2022 when the surgery was scheduled for August 9, 2022? Again registration called Friday evening August 12, 2022 which was going into the weekend and said I needed to get a referral from my PCP for the appointment on Monday, August 15, 2022. Referrals were previous made both by my PCP and the cardiologist. This is just acceptable. Two appointments cancelled in a week.

A couple of months ago, I received a referral from my GP, Dr. Mathew Yang, for a cardiologist, Dr. Yochai Birnbaum. I want to review Dr. Birnbaum, but his "team" has broken and rescheduled my appointment four times! No apology. No attempt to work with my schedule was offered; it's all about them, and the patient is a non-entity. Probably the most arrogant and rude staff I've ever encountered at a doctor's office, and that is saying a lot in these post-Covid days. I would personally fund an etiquette class for the impolite and unprofessional person that called me with that ever-so-smug take-it-or-leave-it attitude. My GP is a highly competent, caring and dedicated physician, but my wretched experience with the disorganized rabble from Birnbaum's office has left me wondering about Baylor. The fourth appointment attempt was penciled in for August 29, which I declined. I'll find another cardiologist that can take the time to see me. I cannot overstate the rudeness of Dr. Birnbaum's "schedulers."
