OVerCharge Customer - not tell customer non refundable policy
Dr Sylvester is a THIEF. They won't tell you that it's NONE refundable if something wrong with your order or glass. They won't return the $ to you and yes, if they exchanged, but they will ask you to pay more on the exchange item. Please read the my story. At first we thought they are nice to their patient. We brought our son there for an eye exam. His first glass was $270. He lost it and we brought him back in. This time I don't want to buy it at Dr Sylvester office since it's too expensive. So, we only want to pick up the prescription. They refused to give it to us. Instead they asked why and tried to convince us to buy it there. We told the truth that we found Costco has a better deal. They said it's not a problem, they can match Costco deal. It turned out that we paid $10 MORE but I didn't mind. Without knowing their order did NOT include the same package that COSTCO has, two weeks later, the frame felt apart. I called them and they said they will replace the lens for me and asked me to come in the office for further discussion. I couldn't go at the time, so I asked my husband to go there. It turned out they tried to sell him something else and charged him $190. My husband didn't notice the bill and signed it. Gosh, I don't know where his mind is. After 10 minutes, he got home and I saw the bill. I asked him why they charged you $190, he said he doesn't know. I called them right away and asked for CANCEL the charge. She said she won't ( I believed it's Dr Sylvester's wife ). She refused to talk to me that say and will talk to me tomorrow. I called the next day and she said it's non refundable. I either take it or she only can give me credit. What's a THIEF ! ! PROFESSIONAL THIEF WITH DR DEGREE. It's an awful experience that we have to go through. Now, We have NOT yet receive the glass that they ordered for my son. :-( We had to buy a different at Costco.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

FYI he does have new staff and is making a lot of changes ...
Dr Sylvester is very Professional and he has had a Ton of bad luck with Staff. As far as him not knowing I honestly believe him...He is very nice and i have never had any Complaints ...His staff on the other hand has been questionable. As far as price all I can say is YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR ! You wanna Drive a BMW but you wanna pay KIA Price ... if price is an issue then maybe you should not be shopping at a Higher end Boutiques...Just Saying... As for me and my most recent visit to Dr Sylvester's office Well his staff is very pleasant and accommodating and gave me a great deal on 2 complete pair of Gucci Glasses! I'm Happy !
My whole family has used Dr. Sylvester for years. We don't always buy our glasses there, but we always see him about our exams and for our medical eye care. He is very professional and is a skilled optometrist. If I have a problem, I always go there first. His new staff is wonderful. They care caring and friendly. You won't get a hard sell from them.
I have known Dr. Sylvester for over 10 years, and I must say that his optometrist skills are second to none. After visiting several optometrists before him ten years ago, he was the first one to diagnose my eye situation correctly, one is farsighted, the other is nearsighted, one is a "drifting" eye...imagine trying to find the proper prescription for such differences in both eyes. Dr. Sylvester found it (that included a prism in one lens) and I have been spared many headaches since then. So, such skill should not go to waste, I highly recommend him to anyone that has eye issues, he is one of the best out there!
I reccommend you call the state board you will find they are complaints on THE DOCTOR not the staff. You complain to the board on a doctor. His practices are shady and he hids behind the premise of OH i didnt know that was my staff. WHAT A CROOK. Do your research call the board and see for your self.
I would have to agree, however, there is one big problem with the aforementioned complaint.
Dr. Sylvester isn't a thief. I've been a long time customer of his, going on about 6 years now.
He is a terrific optometrist, who's been nationally and internationally recognized for his skills and talent in the optometry industry.
Unfortunately, it's the people he had hired at one time that are the cause of this complaint. I know because I had
a situation arise that made me very upset and frustrated due to being double charged. But it was with the staff, particularly someone who was handling the sales part of his business who also did not want to give me a refund due to an error on their part. I had to go straight to him and explain the situation to him since he didn't know anything about it, afterwards the error was corrected promptly. Fortunately for us all, the lady who was the cause of all this frustration, no longer works there and the staff has been completely revamped and he now has a great staff that will do whatever they can to ensure your satisfaction. They're very helpful and understanding and will give you all your options. I highly recommend seeing him as your optometrist and letting his staff help you pick out the right glasses for you.
