I was looking for a specific book at the Maple Grove MN store. I approached the customer service desk, where three people were engaged in animated conversation. Stood by the desk for a couple of minutes, hoping to be acknowledged. The conversation continued. I looked for the book on my own, visiting several sections in the store that seemed relevant. No luck. I went back to the customer service desk, and the group was still intensively engaged in their conversation. I repeated the same pattern...standing by the desk expectedly, and continued to be ignored. I went to the cashier, there was only one, but she was facing a line of customers and, frankly, assisting a customer with a request wasn't really her job. I went back to the customer service desk and interrupted the still ongoing conversation with a request for help. I was met with a monolithic wall of rudeness, especially by one person who I took to be the manager. I left the store without the book.
Recommendation: Do not frequent the Barnes and Noble in Maple Grove, MN. if you anticipate needing assistance. Customer service does not appear to be a priority,
