I drove a Ford Escape for fifteen years. It finally died. I bought a Mazda cx50 because I didn’t want a car with a CVT. I’m so disappointed in this Mazda. They sell paint insurance which I regret not buying. Car was two weeks old when I got routed onto detour with gravel road; within a couple miles the paint had chipped off down the side. The transmission was glitchy for first few months. Car didn’t come with fog lights which are standard on every other car Ive ever owned—What the heck. There’s a design flaw in door hinge so when you push open door to get out it doesn’t stay open and bounces back at you. Although it’s a crossover model, it’s very low —not at all close to an suv—which creates problems at fast food drive thrus, ATM, and any kind of parking lot gate reader. The infotainment center is not at all intuitive. The sensor window wipers aren’t reliable. Only redeeming item is sport mode, which is great for merging onto interstate
Recommendation: Look at other cars. The features that make driving pleasant are missing from this car.
