If I could give less than one star I would
Associa recently took over as the management company for our HOA and quite frankly the nicest thing I can say about them is they are inept. We pay our HOA fees quarterly. We had our bank account debited twice in October. We just received our reimbursement for over $750 3 months later. Yes, 3 months they sat on our money without returning it. Currently our HOA gave all residents a $35+ credit that was to be deducted off our January assessment. Did the incompetents at Associa do the math? Of course not! So once again Associa holds our money hostage. They failed to pay our common area electric bills so our front gate had to be propped open in our "gated" community. Then they failed to pay the electric bill in the pool area so that gate was left propped open as well. Talk about a safety issue with no lifeguards, leaving a pool area open where little ones could wander in!. Now let's talk about their nonexistent response to requests. We had a bug kill our lawn thus allowing an opportunistic crab grass to infiltrate. I emailed a request to address this 2 months ago and weed killer has yet to be sprayed. We had to resort to pulling it out ourselves, picture attached of what we have pulled to date. Other requests from neighbors fall on deaf ears as well. Neighbors have also had the same issue with the HOA fees so these problems are not unique to me, they are a cancer spread throughout our community. Our board is wasting their time with an "action plan" with Associa. They are having to have weekly meetings with them to get them to do the job promised. If Associa's name is mentioned at your board meeting as a possible contender, stand up on your chair and tell then HELL NO! Please feel free to reference this post from someone who was impressed with Associa's bait and switch presentation to our board.
Chauvinism & Sexism by Palm Desert's Branch President & CEO Mark Dodge
My name is Pam Bignardi, and I am a homeowner in the Mountain View Falls community, located in Palm Desert, California. My address is 419 Tava Lane, Palm Desert, California, ***. My community is managed by Associa, aka, Desert Resort Management.
I sincerely ask that you read the following complaint, as I am appalled, angry, and extremely hurt by the words of Mark Dodge, your President & CEO of Associa's Branch office in Palm Desert, California.
We have a resident in the community who spends eight (8) hours a day, minimum, videotaping other homeowners' homes, both inside and out; he videotapes vehicles in the community; he harasses the homeowners, their children, and contacts law enforcement for issues such as children swimming in the pool at 2:00pm on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. He follows residents when they are driving in and out of the community, cuts them off, blocks their access, then gets out of his vehicle and begins videotaping and screaming at them. All of these actions are against the CCR's of our community.
Over the course of this past year, his behavior has become worse, and has escalated to videotaping inside of my home, through the windows, while I am mopping my floors and sleeping. I have awoken multiple times to being videotaped.
I am not the first resident/homeowner to complaint about this man, who resides at 311 Tava Lane, Palm Desert, California. His name is Keith Michael Gore. We live in continued fear that he will escalate his behavior to violence. His actions are not only frightening to us as a community, they have resulted in my neighbors and me hiding in fear of him.
I have contacted law enforcement, and they have taken a report. However, they advised me that the HOA and Management Company are responsible for reaching out to this individual and sending him a cease and desist letter.
On Monday evening I emailed Danielle Lamprada, our community manager, for the third time about this man. I also cc'd Mark Dodge. I included Mr. Dodge, as I have complained to Danielle Lamprade prior, to no avail. My daughter, also a homeowner in the community, has complained to Danielle Lamprada, again, to no avail. I have knowledge that two (2) of my neighbors have complained to Danielle Lamprada about Keith Michael Gore, again, to no avail. Therefore, I included Mr. Dodge in my complaint.
I am deeply saddened to advise you I wish I had not included him. He responded by accusing me of "bringing it on myself;" he also insulted me over the course of three emails he sent me.
I have never been so shocked in my life. Does ANY woman bring on such stalking behavior? Does any woman bring on being videotaped while sleeping? Does any innocent child bring on being videotaped while playing or riding their scooter? Does any woman bring on being harassed and screamed at by a man? These responses, from Mark Dodge, are not only appalling, they are chauvinistic to the core. They are sexist - no excuses.
I have followed all instructions given to me by law enforcement, only to be insulted by your Branch President & CEO, Mark Dodge.
My emails back and forth yesterday to both Mr. Dodge and your staff, to include Danielle Lamprada, were not only a cry for help, they were asking them to do their respective jobs. While I was advised that my correspondence was sent to our Board of Directors, I wanted clarification. I also asked if I could represent myself at the Board meeting, as I have lost ALL faith in Danielle Lamprada and Associa, aka Desert Resort Management.
This is when Mark Dodge chimed in. I have copied and pasted two of his emails below. His emails continued this morning. It is this morning that he accused me of "bringing on the actions" of Keith Michael Gore. Following are just two (2) of his emails.
Email #1 example
Hello Ms. Bignardi
You are correct?. There is nothing we can do for you. And if you honestly believe it is our role to protect you when your life is threatened than you understand very little about HOA's and HOA law as you suggest. The HOA does not have the physical ability to stop someone from harming you. I am sorry. Do you think he would stop whatever he is doing if we wrote him a letter? Do you see my point? That is all we can do. If you are feeling threatened or endangered. The police are the ones empowered in our community to protect your safety and well being and to secure you when you feel insecure. My further recommendation is you do what you can to disengage with this gentlemen as well. That would probably go further than anything we or the police can do. Whatever is occurring here is invariably two sided. Protect yourself and stay clear of him.
Thank you
Mark Dodge
Branch President and CEO

Email #2 example:
I deal all day with adults acting like children. If that appears arrogant so be it. It is the position I am placed in by circumstances.
We want statements from others to validate your claim there are others?if you want the HOA to weigh in this has to look like a problem bigger than one you have created for yourself.
Thanks and take care?
Mark Dodge
Branch President and CEO
PPO ***
I am now asking for your assistance, as this Branch office is not only insensitive; Mark Dodge is sexist, a chauvinist. I am a business woman; I have two (2) Bachelor of Arts Degrees, and have worked for over thirty (30) years in corporate management. I have encountered sexism over the course of this time, and Mr. Dodge exemplifies the worst of the worst. He accused me above of "creating the problem for myself," as you can read in his email above.
What type of Branch Presidents do you employ? Is this the image Associa wants to portray to the community, and country, as a whole?
I ask you to think about these questions.
In closing, I ask that your corporate office assists me with any and all future matters. I cannot and will not be insulted again.
I thank you for your time, and look forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards,
Pam Bignardi

Disappointing Experience with Associa: Poor Follow-Up and Customer Service
Associa is a company that I would not recommend to anyone. Their follow-up is terrible and they treat their customers like they are not important. It seems like customer service is not a priority for them, and this attitude starts from the top. I had a problem that I wanted to discuss with the president of the Mid-Atlantic regional office, but it took me three attempts to even get her to return my call. When she finally did call me back, she didn't seem very interested in helping me at all.
If you are looking for a management company for your homeowners association, I would advise you to be very careful when considering Associa. They are quick to take your money, but they are very slow when it comes to delivering service. It seems like they are more interested in making a profit than in providing quality service to their customers.
Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience with Associa. I would not recommend them to anyone, and I will definitely be looking for a different management company for my homeowners association in the future.

Unreliable and Unsafe: My Experience with Associa Property Management
Associa is a company that manages properties, but my experience with them was not a good one. I live in a Penn State apartment off campus with three other girls, and we had a bathroom leak that damaged the floor below. We called Associa to come and fix it, but when they arrived, they didn't knock or announce themselves. This made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe in our own home.
Another issue we had with Associa was their claim of having 24-hour maintenance. However, when we needed them to help us with a lock-out so we could access our prescription medications, they did not respond. This was incredibly frustrating and unhelpful.
To make matters worse, the laundry machines in our building would often stop mid-cycle and double charge us. This was a huge inconvenience and added unnecessary stress to our already busy lives.
Overall, I would not recommend Associa managed properties to anyone. Their lack of communication, unresponsiveness, and faulty equipment made our living situation unbearable. Save yourself the trouble and find a different property management company.
Terrible Maintenance and Communication: My Experience with [Company Name]
I've been trying to get my mailbox key for a whole week now, and it's been a real struggle. I have an important letter that I need to access, but no one is getting back to me. I've sent two emails and made three calls, but still no response. It seems like no one can get in touch with the person in charge. To make matters worse, the hot tub in our community hasn't been working for five whole months, and no one has done anything about it. This has really upset the residents in our community, and we're all pretty angry about the lack of maintenance. The bathrooms in the clubhouse don't even have any toilet paper! As a new tenant in a community "run" by this company, I have to say that this is not a great first impression. If I could give them zero stars, I definitely would.
Associa: A Property Management Company with Communication and Efficiency Issues
Associa is a company that needs to seriously consider making some changes. From the top down, there are a lot of issues that need to be addressed. One of the biggest problems is the lack of communication. It seems like no one knows what's going on, and they're not very good at keeping their clients informed.
Another issue is that they make promises they can't keep. They claim to be able to provide certain services, but when it comes down to it, they fall short. This is frustrating for clients who are relying on them to manage their properties.
The employees at Associa are hit or miss. Some are great, but most are not very efficient. They seem to be overwhelmed and unable to keep up with the demands of the job.
If you have a problem and try to contact your local office, you'll likely be forwarded to an outsourced firm in Texas. This can be a frustrating experience, as it can take a long time to get through to someone. And when you finally do, you might not get the help you need.
Overall, if you're considering using Associa as your property management company, you might want to think twice. There are a lot of issues that need to be addressed before they can be considered a reliable option.
Associa: A Nightmare HOA Company - A Warning to Homeowners
Associa is a company that manages homeowners associations (HOAs) and provides various services to communities. However, my experience with them has been nothing short of disappointing. I must say that this HOA company is absolutely terrible! These people are like garbage! They have robbed our community of money, safety, beauty, equity, heat, and hot water. It's been a complete nightmare dealing with them.
One of the biggest issues we had with Associa was their lack of attention to the property. They never visited the property to assess damage, graffiti, or anything that was important to the people that lived there and called Aspen Gardens home. It was like they didn't care about the community at all. It was frustrating to see that they were not doing their job properly.
Another problem we had with Associa was their expenses. They padded expenses because the flat rate wasn't enough to satiate their infinite greed, sometimes to the tune of $3,000-$5000 monthly. We don't have a pool, hot tub, gym, or any amenities that would justify $300 a month HOA dues. It was like they were taking advantage of us and charging us for things that we didn't even have.
Now we are struggling to pay off liens and make repairs that should have been handled by Associa. It's been a huge financial burden on us, and it's all because of their negligence. It's like they don't care about the community's well-being at all.
I would strongly advise people to vet their HOA before signing up with them. When they laugh in your face when you ask about site visits because they live in Littleton, take the hint, it's an obvious red flag. It's important to do your research and make sure that you're signing up with a company that cares about the community and is willing to do their job properly.
In conclusion, I would not recommend Associa to anyone. They have been a complete disappointment, and it's been a nightmare dealing with them. It's important to find a company that cares about the community and is willing to do their job properly.
Negative Experience with Associa in Herriman Skyline Phase 2: Towing and Harassment Issues
We have had the pleasure of working with Associa in Herriman Skyline Phase 2 and unfortunately, our experience has not been the best. One of the biggest issues we faced was when our vehicle was towed from a parking stall without any prior notice or explanation. After much back and forth, the fees were eventually waived, but we were left feeling frustrated and confused as to why it was towed in the first place.
Another issue we faced was with regards to our truck being parked in our driveway. We were constantly harassed and told that we were in violation because our truck was backed into our driveway, impeding traffic. However, this made no sense as our vehicle was in our driveway and not touching the street at all. It has been a constant battle with one person and we have not been able to get anything done as per the guidelines set forth in their own bylaws.
The cost of working with Associa has also been outrageous and we have not been able to get anything done efficiently. We are currently looking to vote them out and/or change associations as we feel that our needs are not being met. If anyone wants to see the emails we have received over the last six years of harassment, we would be happy to provide them.
Overall, we would advise others to steer clear of this company as our experience has not been a positive one. We hope that they can improve their services in the future and provide better support to their clients.
Unprofessional and Incompetent: My Experience with Associa Strata Management Company
Associa is a strata management company that has been causing a lot of trouble for us. We used to have a Canadian company managing our strata, but they sold it to Associa. Since then, we have been dealing with a lot of unprofessional and incompetent behavior from this company.
One of the biggest issues we have been facing is break-ins and vandalism. Our parking lot is constantly facing vehicle theft and vandalism, but the management refuses to put more cameras and security measures in place. This has caused a lot of frustration and anxiety for us as residents. We have had to take matters into our own hands and consult with lawyers to protect our vehicles and bikes.
In fact, I had to secure my bike to the bike storage gate which had no lock or secure gate. Right away, I received a threatening letter of disposal of my bike if I did not move it! I had to talk to my lawyer and advise the strata that they need to put a lock on the gate in order to protect our bikes. It took them more than a month to make a decision, which was very frustrating.
Another issue we faced was with my patio gutter, which was leaking water to the unit below me for months. Associa refused to fix it until I involved my lawyer. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and shows a lack of care for the residents.
Overall, I wish Associa could go back to the US and continue their bad management there. We need a strata management company that cares about the safety and well-being of its residents. Associa is not that company.
Associa's Payment Methods Cause Headaches for Sage Hill Residents in Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Associa, formerly known as C-Era, has taken over ROA payments for Sage Hill in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. However, their payment methods have caused more than a few headaches for residents. For starters, paying online with a credit card incurs an additional "convenience fee". If you prefer to pay with a banking account, you'll need to provide a 9-digit routing number, which is an American banking convention. Canadian banks, on the other hand, use a 5-digit transit number. It seems that only American currency is accepted.
If you want to set up Pre-Authorized Debit, you'll need to sign away your rights to your legally required ten days pre-notification before withdrawal. This means that C-Era can withdraw funds from your account without giving you any notice. If you refuse to sign their "pre-notification advice waiver", they won't process your payment.
If you prefer to pay by cheque, you'll need to pay for the cheque, envelope, and postage. Alternatively, you can pay by debit, but only if you can take time off work to go to their office Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Unfortunately, their office hours are not very convenient for most people.
When it comes to customer service, residents have reported that Deanna, Jason, and Violet need training. It seems that getting actual customer service is a challenge. If residents had a choice, they would never do business with Associa again.
Overall, it's clear that Associa's payment methods are not user-friendly. The additional fees, confusing banking conventions, and lack of convenient payment options make it difficult for residents to pay their ROA fees. Additionally, the requirement to sign away pre-notification rights is concerning. Hopefully, Associa will take these concerns into consideration and make changes to their payment methods in the future.
Associa and Their HOA Manager Sue Martin: A Month of Headaches and Frustration
I gotta say, I've had some pretty rough experiences with Associa and their online platform, associaonline.com. It's been a whole month of headaches dealing with them and their HOA manager, Sue Martin. First off, they accused me of illegally renting out my unit and being an "absent owner." Like, excuse me? I live here with my son, who is staying with me RENT FREE. But apparently, that's not good enough for Sue and the HOA. They think they have the power to tell me who I can and cannot live with.
And if that wasn't bad enough, I recently got a promotion at work that comes with a work van. The company even pays for my gas, which is a HUGE budget saver for me. But when I parked my unmarked white van at my home, Sue tagged it and told me I couldn't park it there. What the heck? I'm not taking up two parking spaces or anything. My personal car is parked at the office. But because the van is owned by the company, apparently I'm not allowed to accept the benefits of my promotion. It's ridiculous. I'm even considering asking Sue and the HOA to compensate me for the fuel I burn going back and forth to work.
Honestly, I'm so frustrated with Associa and the HOA that I'm thinking about selling my home and moving away. It's a shame, because I really like the Townes of Hunton. But if they keep up these bad practices, I don't think anyone will want to buy into this community. It's supposed to be a place where they protect our interests, but it feels like they're just making our lives harder.
Community Archives" Review: Nightmare Customer Service and Incompetence
I've been trying to get my Master Insurance Policy for a whole week now, and it's been a complete nightmare. Every time I call "Community Archives", I have to sit on hold for over an hour. It's frustrating to say the least. The first time I called, I was given a woman's email address to contact, but she hasn't responded to my two emails in 7 days. It's like they don't care about their customers at all. This company is complete garbage, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
All I'm asking for is one piece of paper, and it seems like it's impossible to get it. Is it really that hard? Not only that, but my HOA price went up when they switched to this management company. They requested information when they acquired my HOA, which I gave to them, but then they acted like I never gave them the info. It's like they don't know what they're doing.
I signed up for autopay, but they never started charging me. This is a mess. Then, when I sold my villa two weeks ago, they contacted my real estate agent saying that my buyer needed to put down 15%. There was no "requirement" before this company came along. It's like they're making up rules as they go along.
This company is worse than the one we had before. Why even use a management company if they don't manage anything? It's a waste of time and money. By the way, I'm on hold right now, and it's been 36 minutes so far. I'm not even sure if anyone will be able to help me when I finally get through. It's like they don't care about their customers at all.
I wonder what would happen to me if I didn't do my job? It's frustrating to see a company that doesn't seem to care about their customers. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
