On 6 May, I tried to exchange money at Arab African International Bank when the ATM suddenly shut down during the transaction. I waited for the machine to restart, but after it came back on, my money was gone. I immediately contacted customer service and explained the situation. I was promised feedback within 48 hours, yet nobody contacted me. I had to keep calling myself, but every time I received no proper solution and was simply asked to call again later.
Eventually, I was told to visit the branch to collect my money. Today, I waited more than an hour in line, only to be told that I needed my original passport. I explained that I had a passport copy, my Egyptian ID card, and even showed my Hilton business card, but none of this mattered. Because of the bank’s own ATM failure, I had to travel 8 km twice, waste hours of my time, and spend nearly 10 USD in taxi fares just to recover 20 USD. This entire experience was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable.
Recommendation: before visit AAIBt think twice
