They advertised a position for a helpdesk II agent online via Indeed.com. I completed 50 percent of an online application for the position and lost interest in the position. Regardless several days later I received a call from a person informing me that he thinks I am a good fit for the position and he wishes I com in and interview for the position disregarding he had not seen my resume and I had only completed half of the online application at that point. After our conversation we scheduled an interview for the following day. He advised me to arrive in Suit and tie with two forms of ID and a copy of my resume. I was advised to complete the online application prior to the interview. AppleOne does not identify themselves as a staffing agency. I find out they were a staffing agency when I arrived at their office. The AppleOne staffing agent I spoke to the night before lead me to believe that he was the actual employer by telling me that he had a job that he felt I was a good match for. Instead I did not interview with an employer. I interviewed to register as a possible candidate with the AppleOne staffing agency. After meeting and surpassing their expectations at the "interview" I was told that they would forward my profile to the employer and if I am selected I would be sent there for an interview. Due to the deceit that was woven into the process I feel that there was no helpdesk II position and that the supposed position was just hung out there as bait to get possible hires to register with their staffing agency. The "interview" took two hours. I have had interviews with actual employers that were over the phone no sight seen that took less than 30 minutes. I left the AppleOne office after two hours never having spoken with an actual employer, with no job, and I got a stain on my nice suit. The only thing I accomplished was registering with a staffing agency. I feel that was their ultimate goal and holding out a fictitious helpdesk level II position was what they used to accomplish that feat.

DO NOT APPLY FOR APPLEONE. After going into an interview with one of the recruiters, I wrapped it up by giving her really solid references that I had (all of which were management that I'm still good friends with). After a week, I contacted my recruiter (Sandra) and she told me that she left messages for my references and none of them had called her back.
After communicating with my references, I discovered that she hadn't contacted them at all, in any fashion. I asked them to call her up themselves and they did it to help me out.

That was about two weeks ago. I've been told that it can take 6-8 weeks to research references and that I'm not eligible for employment until then. In the mean time, Sandra called one of my references to arrange a face-to-face meeting so she can hammer out a recruitment deal for him! When I got the complaint from my reference that she's using him as a lead instead of a reference, I called the office to speak to her. Mind you, this wasn't more than a couple hours after she called him.

THE RECEPTIONIST TOLD ME SHE WASN'T IN TODAY AND I'D HAVE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE. I left one, and emailed her as well, stating that I do not want her to contact any of my references any more.

Their conduct is completely unprofessional. The flat-out lies and the abuse of the references I gave gave me a very bad taste in my mouth. Honestly, if my references weren't still friendly with me, this would DESTROY my ability to use them as a reference in the future.

STAY FAR AWAY. You can't afford to lose good references because of this unprofessional behavior.

Appleone in Chicago. They ask for all your personal information to do a background and reference check. They want 5 references. They have you complete all this paperwork for social security background check too. Have you complete multiple assessments, watch the company video, interview you, tell you they have the perfect match for you, then you don't hear back from them. Weeks later after you've called and emailed them, still nothing. They don't even respond. Make a personal visit only to be told you were not qualified for the position. The position? I thought this was a temp agency? There are no other positions for which I meet the qualifications? A scam, they were to insistent on references. Were too interested in my previous employers. Makes me think they get some type of bonus just for signing people on. I had a bad feeling because it took two hours before the interviewer even came to see me. No disrespect but the persons working in the Chicago office just didn't seem professional but I went against my better judgement. I need to know where to issue a complaint against Appleone in Chicago. DO NOT GIVE PERSONAL INFO (S.S.#, Drivers License #, or permission for any background check unless they offer you a position. I don't see how they remain in business.

Appleone is a crap job of a company. I have registered with them twice, hoping the second would be better. Was I wrong Both times the person who was my representative ended up leaving the company within a month of me registering and they did not bother let e know. When I did call to speak with my "former" representative, I got transferred to a new person who was asking me questions that should had already been in their system. Then the person had the nerve to ask me to send my resume again...I thought they kept a database with that information. I asked the "new" representative if I would have to re-interview and she said no in a snobby attitude like it was my fault that my "former" representative was gone and I did not know. Also, the jobs they advertise...FALSE. Many of those posting I could do with no arms and legs..not literally, but the different offices rather let a good job go to waste than asking any nearby office if they have a good candidate for the position. Don't bother applying online, you will never get a call back as it is stated. Please don't be insulted if they say they save a possible job, but paying much less than you told them you need to make. I see posting that is well beyond what I asked, but they only offered me something that won't even pay for rent. Appleone is pathetic.

I feel as though they just try to get you in to "interview" you. I don't think they have ANY of the jobs they post. I think they only make up positions to get people to apply and register with them. The one I went to is in midtown Atlanta. And you have to PAY to park. When people are looking for a job they don't have gas to waste or money to waste on parking for a FAKE "interview." I have registered with them 3 different times over a 7yr period. Out of all the temp agencies I have worked for (8), AppleOne is the ONLY one that has NEVER had a job when I called. They always say we will submit your resume to the employer. They are very deceitful in how they go about business. All they do is interview people all day for positions they don't even have. I don't know how they are even in business. I wish they would be honest and tell people what they are really looking for instead of playing with the emotions of people desperately looking for work. They should be ashamed of themselves!
