My experience with Nerd Power has been a wild ride, like the famous ***. It's had its ups and downs. The first part was a bit of a letdown, I'd give it 1 star. But the team really turned things around in the second half and delivered an amazing product. I'd give that part 5 stars.

The first three months were a struggle. The NerdPower team couldn't deliver the product we bought and even tried to charge us extra for the installation. It was hard to find someone who knew what they were talking about and could help us move the project forward. We went back and forth for about 3 months before things officially started. It was a mess of miscommunication. We'd talk to one NerdPower team member and it was like the conversation never happened. None of the information got passed on to the rest of the team. It was really frustrating.

But then, things took a turn for the better in the next three months. I called customer service and *** took charge. He understood our situation and got things moving. He connected us with the right people who knew what they were doing. It was exactly what we needed to save our experience. The leaders he introduced us to helped us make decisions about the products we needed for the installation. And *** from the installation team had a ton of experience with solar installation. He played a key role in making important decisions on site.

The electricians who worked on our home were fantastic. *** did an amazing job bending the conduit and hiding it so it didn't look ugly on the house. *** and *** were also great. They treated our home with care, as if it were their own. They were professional and paid attention to every detail. I'm really grateful for the work they did on our home.

***'s communication was excellent in the second half of the project.

I spoke with the sales guy A YEAR AGO (Feb. 2019) who convinced me solar panels was a way to go! Worst buy I've made in my entire life! Zero communication between Nerd Power, TEP, and Me. Sales Rep. promised me new duct work an additional duct work for two bedrooms; that never happened! The technician told me "they don't do that they just add insulation to attic". Throughout the whole summer TEP sent me numerous emails indicating that my permits or work was not approved "to hold on moving forward with the project until the work is approved"...but Nerd Power has continued with the project. They schedule appointments and don't show. I've taken time off from work 3 time to be home (required) and they don't even show. When calling the sales rep. he says he will get back to me in 20 minutes and I never get a call back. It's been a year; solar panels are installed and I'm getting billed for them yet the meter hasn't been installed so I'm paying for an electrical bill ($200) AND solar panel bills ($200) that aren't functioning. DO NOT get suckered into getting solar panels with Nerd Power; it's a headache and NOT worth it.

It was the absolute easiest decision we as homeowners, have made thus far! Kudos to Jessica and apparently the amazing mentors who guided her with the knowledge of this product, the benefits to homeowners and the ability to get back control of our utility bill! We have since shared this amazing meeting with several family and friends and how it could benefit them to speak to Jessica! Get ready Jessica/Nerd Power, they will be calling! Thank you so much and we are so excited!

Unfortunately you can’t rate a company at zero. Please read all the Negative reviews before you even consider NERD Power. Then run away as fast as you can! The sales people and technicians are great. The approval and instal process is smooth and easy. Once they are installed and you start to have concerns and problems is when you are 100% ON YOUR OWN! They will ask for bills, confirmation of how much your bill is, then tell you your electric company has something wrong. They will even promise to get back to you to make sure they get the problems resolved. Even give you a “point of contact” person, who will never contact you. Absolute WORST decision I have ever made is to add solar to my home. A $40,000 pigeon coop that allows me the opportunity to pay $700 a month 10 months a year for electricity is disgusting. But for over a year, no one at NERD Power can, or will, explain or resolve. If you must have solar...STAY AWAY FROM NERD POWER

We just received the 3rd consecutive Edison bill containing a credit rather than an amount due. Very happy about our savings since installing solar with NERD Power. Brendan Ganch was knowledgeable, patient, always available for questions and explained our solar options clearly. We had interviewed another solar company and were left with the feeling that there was something we weren't being told. Instead, Brendan at NERD Power kept us well informed through every step of the installation. NERD Power's installation work was without flaw. All NERD workmen were friendly, polite, talented and extremely professional. The work was clean and done on time. It has been several months since we converted to solar power and we are extremely satisfied. Our family strongly recommends NERD Power for solar installation! The Lian family

Nerd power was wonderful to work with. Very informative, no pressure and helpful. Most salesman you never hear from again once your "passed on to team". Not so with these guys, Karl has called my husband and I to follow-up and see how this are going.

I decided to move forward a couple years ago with Nerd Power. Karl Goodman came out and was straight forward from the get go. He provided accurate information and set the proper expectations. 2 years later and I am not disappointed. If anyone has thought about solar I would definitely recommend reaching out to Karl.

I would recommend any one whos tired of paying high bills to reach out and see if their home is a good fit for the program. It makes sense why you see solar panels everywhere, its a no brainer!

Nerd Power I’ve been talking with Karl for a few months

I’ve been talking with Karl for a few months. Due to COVID, our meetings were virtual. He helped me get comfortable with the solar process and answered all of my questions. I did a few consults with other companies but I felt like this was home. I’m excited to get my install with Nerd Power as well as recommending them. I believe that any new or potential customers will have the same great experience.

We chose NerdPower because a friend recommended it, and they have been amazing! Karl, our sales rep, was very knowledgeable and informative, answering all of our questions and helping us design a system that met our exact needs. Install was fast and smooth, NerdPower took care of everything! Every employee that has come to my house or contacted me has been polite and professional. I will be recommending to everyone I know interested in solar! Thanks Karl!

I was hesitant the beginning and told the initial person that stopped my house about my concerns but he still made arrangement for us to meet with the sale person. My wife and I initially met with the salesman and things went smooth despite me needing to make arrangements to sign the paperwork at another location. Which I should have seen as a flag but still went forward with everything. I would like to warn people reading this to read the fine print. I didn't realize I needed to cancel within 3 days by the time I got my copies it was too late to cancel. I continue though the process despite my hesitation from the beginning. Please do your research, I have read the reviews here and talked to other people who have solar. They tell me I am being overcharged for what I was planning on installing on top of that you feel backed into a corner because now with me cancelling even though nothing has been installed. I'm being told you will have to pay 25 percent of the over all cost you were quoted. Anyone who has done business with NERD Power knows this is huge amount of money to just walk away. But I feel it is necessary because what they don't tell you is how after they install your equipment customer service goes down the drain. Another thing to consider is great you have a warranty but what if your roof needs to be repaired who is going to pay for the removal and putting back of the solar panels. Another thing I have to think about my wife's grandmother safety who came to live with us after we had signed the contract, which I'm being told is basically to bad you signed a contract so you owe us 25 percent of the overall cost. You would think a company would be more considerate when we are in the middle of a pandemic and my wife's grandmother is 93 and doesn't need the added risk from having stranger in our home. I hope my comments will help someone because it is too late for me.

Review #1 (B+) I live in Hutto TX. I was interested in Solar Power Panels and started to get quotes from several companies. Prices varied from company to company but I went with Nerd Power because they were the only company that offered energy reduction followed by installation of solar panels which I liked, I also liked the sales person Jonathan W who did a great job with the proposal. One of the items on the Nerd partner program checklist is to be responsive and flexible. This is a must (at least for me). I have had issues, some I thought should have been easy to fix but they took awhile. I had to call and email many times to get them fixed or answers. Again Jonathon W has been great eventually getting me answers to the questions I asked. Still waiting on a couple items, hopefully they get resolved as he has informed me. As far as the energy reduction Nerd Power estimated around 4770kwh a month. Now knowing what energy upgrades they are doing and researching more about them, I don't see it getting there, but time will tell and I will post an update after all done (hopefully a good one) I believe they make a good profit in this area based on my research of the cost to do what they did on my own compared to what they charge for it. And that's fine as long as the actual energy reduction is close to what they estimate. The project manager and workers doing the upgrades have been doing a good job. As far as the solar panels, they are getting installed next week. They are lower efficiency panels then other quotes I got. Researching the panels I found out they are considered a very good panel. So I guess not being an excellent panel does allow for the cost to me to be lower. And again the sale person did a great job explaining the differences to me and according to him not a big difference. My estimated energy offset was 98.9%. Only time will tell if their estimate was close. I know its all an estimate but I believe if that's what you tell me, which convinced me to buy, it better be close. So eventually I will provide another update with my actual offset. (and again hopefully a good one)

Nerd Power I got these Solar Panels, right?

I got these Solar Panels, right? They cost me a good $160.00 every month. But guess what? They went kaput a week ago. And you know what's worse? The repair part won't be here for another week or two. So now I'm stuck without any solar energy for like 3 whole weeks. And you know what that means? My SRP bill is gonna skyrocket!

So I thought, hey, maybe Nerd Power can help me out here. But nope, they didn't offer me any credit or financial compensation. Can you believe that? It's like they don't even care about the financial burden their product is causing me. Talk about lousy customer service, right?

And the worst part is, I still got like 20 years left on my loan for these panels. So I know I'm gonna have to deal with this mess again in just 2 years. Ugh, what a headache.

Nerd Power I signed a contract with Nerd Power in July

I signed a contract with Nerd Power in July . The support and execution of the contract have been terrible. It's been six months, and the system is still not functional. The customer service is poor, and they don't seem motivated to complete the project. It's hard to get proper support, and they show no sympathy. We've had two failed inspections. If I had the choice, I would ask the company to come and take their equipment back, and I would go with a reputable company. From my perspective, there doesn't seem to be any closure in sight, and I feel helpless. The next step after ComplaintsBoard.com might be to seek legal representation.

Nerd Power This company is not reliable

This company is not reliable. They were supposed to install the solar panels, but they missed the scheduled date. It took them a whopping 7 months to finally show up. And then, it took another 3 months to get the inspection done. Can you believe it? On top of that, they broke 35 tiles on my roof. I've been waiting for months for them to be replaced, and if my husband didn't check, they would have never done it! My attic is probably damaged from being exposed for so long, but nobody at the company seems to care. They told me they fired all the workers who were supposed to work on my home, but I don't believe that for a second. I just want to warn everyone out there: do not use NERD POWER for solar installation. They are the most unreliable company I've ever had to deal with. And to think, I paid $42,000 for this! It's absolutely unacceptable.

Nerd Power They told us we were gonna pay $50 on our electric **** $100 for the panels FIRM

They told us we were gonna pay $50 on our electric *** $100 for the panels FIRM. But this is Not what they are charging us. They are charging $80 on Electric *** and $110 for the panels. This is gonna be a problem in the summer when our electricity *** goes up cuz she is saying we are using too much electricity. Cygell *** is the person that came to our house and told us this. Her number is *** We have complained to her but she says she didn't say that. However, she told us in Spanish and it was the only reason we agreed to it cuz the price was firm and within our budget. She also said we were gonna receive a credit of $10k from the Government and that we had to give it to them so our payments would go down.

Nerd Power n, and my AC problem remains unresolved

n, and my AC problem remains unresolved. I am extremely disappointed with Nerd Power's lack of communication and failure to fulfill their promises.

I decided to buy the "Smart Shield" program from Nerd Power in April because summers are scorching hot and my utility bills are sky-high. My AC doesn't cool all the rooms properly, so I thought the air duct seals offered by the smart shield program would fix the issue. However, since I made the purchase, it has been a real struggle to get in touch with Nerd Power. They never scheduled an installation date, and despite numerous unanswered phone calls, we finally managed to find someone who could start the process.

During the work, the technician informed me that they only seal circular ducts, not square ones. This information was never mentioned in any of the contracts, and it was the main reason I opted for their service. Nerd Power continued to dodge my attempts to contact them. They were supposed to provide me with pictures before and after the work, but I haven't received any. As a result, my ducts remain unsealed, and my AC problem persists.

I am extremely frustrated with Nerd Power's lack of communication and their failure to deliver on their promises.

Nerd Power In July, I had Nerd Power install two parts of my roof

In July, I had Nerd Power install two parts of my roof. After the install, I noticed about 10 screws sticking out of the roof, each about 2 inches long. I told the representative I was in touch with, and he told me to email the project manager. They sent a crew out 4 times to fix the protruding screws. They patched some holes and moved the panels. But even now, I still have a few small leaks in my ceiling and about 20 little holes from moving the panels. Some of the original holes are still leaking. Recently, we had 3 whole days of rain (Jan. 27, 29, 30), and now my bamboo flooring is showing signs of rain damage from the leaks. My water-damaged natural wood ceiling is also ruined. The last crew that came to see the damage told me I need to call a roofer to fix the holes. It's been 6 months since the panels were installed, but they're not turned on yet. The city came for a final inspection on Dec. 22, but had to cancel because no one from the company was there. And I still don't have my smart thermostat.

Nerd Power This company ain't keepin' their promise 'bout their products

This company ain't keepin' their promise 'bout their products. They said durin' the sales pitch that if we ever had any problems with their stuff, the solar panels had a lifetime warranty. Sounds good, right? Well, the problem is we can never get a hold of a customer service rep to fix any issues. When ya call the *** number, the recordin' says ya can wait for a CSR, but the dang phone just sends ya to voicemail. So ya gotta wait 'n hope they call ya back when they feel like it. I've tried leavin' voicemails, but the person who calls back don't even address the problems I mentioned. So, as a customer, I got two issues. First, my problems ain't gettin' fixed, and that's a big deal 'cause we're payin' for power that our solar panels are supposed to be generatin'. But somehow, the power company ain't seein' any record of that power, so we ain't gettin' credit for it. I wanna fix this, but I can't get in touch with Nerd Power. Last month and this month, our electricity bill was 'bout $100, even though the Nerd Power salesperson said it wouldn't be more than $20 or $30.

The sales rep contacted me on March 9 to offer solar panels. I was unsure because I was applying for a swimming pool and didn't want my credit to be affected. The sales rep suggested a "soft pool" to see if I qualify, as they had a $500 discount in April. I mentioned that two bedrooms didn't have duct work, but he assured me it would be included. I agreed and signed the agreement on 4/5. During the summer, I received emails from TEP about permit approvals. I asked the sales rep about them, and he said not to worry. My pool was built in three months, but the solar panels weren't installed. The sales rep blamed TEP for being backed up. I took time off work three times for technicians who never arrived or came at the wrong time. I got an email saying the 180-day limit expired, but the sales rep said I couldn't cancel as work was done. The panels were installed on December 24, but the duct work was never done. I didn't receive the $500 discount and haven't submitted my taxes for the $12,000 tax credit. In February , I received my first bill for the panels, but the meter hasn't been installed. I've been waiting for a year and paying for non-functioning panels. I have a $200 electric bill and a $200 solar panel bill. The sales rep doesn't return our calls. I don't trust this company anymore.

Nerd Power put in a solar system at our house more than a year ago, but we've had a bunch of problems right from the start. The issues got worse and the district manager of *** even said it was dangerous. The problem is that our solar battery, which was installed over a year ago, has never worked right. When I told nerdpower about it a few weeks after they installed it, they said I was wrong and that the battery was working fine. But my app that keeps track of the battery's progress showed that it was never charging. On September 7th, 2022, I went to the *** office in person and showed the manager *** my battery tracking app that nerdpower gave me. Then *** admitted that the battery was faulty and could cause a fire. *** told my spouse and me to move anything flammable away from the battery and emailed corporate about our situation while we were there. Now it's 4 months later (January 2023) and even though I called in September, October, November, and December, I haven't gotten many updates. Mostly, they just give me the runaround. In September 2022, a technician who was supposed to fix the battery didn't even show up. I emailed the manager in October 2022 and never got a response. I've talked to customer service a bunch of times too, but they just give me the runaround. In October 2022, I called the electric company TEP and found out that the battery isn't even necessary. So I called NP customer service again and told them to come take it out because I don't want something that's faulty and, in NP's own words, "dangerous" and "flammable/combustible" in my garage. That was in October *** they still haven't fixed the battery. They don't even return my calls anymore.
