Was assigned to a driver yesterday, driver calls- says he'll be over for around 4 to pick up, but says he'll call back with a more specific time. I can't reach him again till 3:45. He says things have taken longer than expected, he won't be there till 8!
I get a call 30 mins later, he's asking if he can pick it up at 10pm. I say that wont work. He agrees instead to pick it up between 3-4 *today*. I get a call at 9am today, it's him cancelling. I'm offered a refund or they can see if there is another driver I say call me back before assigning if there is another driver. The driver is assigned without calling me back. They are now refusing a refund. Because of all this faff, the seller actually *refuses* to sell me the couch I was after, even with this knowledge they'd rather send a driver out at 8pm today (not the time that could be done anyway) instead of giving me a refund. after going back and forth for hours they have offered a measly £10 credit, vs the £70 I paid to lose a couch.
They also subcontract, the second driver was more then happy to tell me he's probably only getting paid like £10 for the job it was costing £70 to do, and that he'd do it for cheaper if I needed it done in future.
Recommendation: find a local van company- far less faff.
