Anytime Fitness - Everything

I joined this facility about 5 years ago because it had everything I needed…decent weight equipment that was maintained, responsible personnel, who took pride in the gym…kept it clean, made sure equipment was put up, that people coming into the gym were members and old enough to be working out unsupervised.

Not any more, the manager is the only employee and he informed me he was really not responsible for the gym as he was the sales manager for over 155 gyms. He is on his computer pretty much all the time and says membership has never been better.

He said I was the only one who has complained to him although he did say several people complained about me on a noisy stationery bike, which he finally put a sign saying it was out of order. I've had people come up to me in the gym saying they've complained with no results.

We have high school kids coming in, most are not members, unsupervised who slam their weights down, don't unload their weights, are shirtless, and don't put equipment back where it belongs.

The gym is a mess…dirt everywhere, filthy bathrooms, loaded trash receptacles, equipment down and nobody going around the gym observing any of this and only excuses…hand written signs saying other things are more important.

I've been to several other Anytime Gyms and they are in great shape.

My husband says I'm wasting my time and he is probably right. But maybe if more people complain (because according to the manager nobody has), they will do something.

Desired outcome: More employees, housekeeper, posted etiquette of gym (printed on wall and discussed with members), supervised underage kids, checking membership upon entry.

Anytime Fitness - Membership

I joined a year ago. I discussed and signed a year long contract. About six months in, I had a severe back injury and I went in to speak to them about canceling my membership. At that time I was told that I could not cancel early unless I paid a $50 fee plus an additional month at $35, even with the doctor's note.
Totally frustrated, I opted to freeze my membership for 3 months and I turned in my key fob. (The lady I had been speaking to answered a phone call and continued to talk while I was sitting there waiting, after 8 minutes I left. I never heard back.
My membership was never frozen. I had sent several emails asking when my freeze was over and no one answered me finally a guy answered my email and told me I was welcome to return whenever I was ready. This made me curious so I asked when the actual date was that the freeze ended. It was only then that he admitted that it was never frozen. I was told I would be reimbursed for the three months that it was supposed to be. I was never reimbursed for the three months.
I went in to pick up another key fob and told the new manager what had happened and she said she would look into it and get right back to me, that never happened.
I asked when my membership was up and she told me it was up in September. I told her then I would be canceling my membership and I left.
I recently tried to submit my membership cancellation and was told that I still had another year. At this point I was extremely frustrated with all of the nonsense I had already been through. Once again I shared my doctor's note with her and she said I could go ahead and cancel. (Why the hell couldn't this have happened 6 months before when I requested it!) This is infuriating!
Now I have been in twice at the times she said she would be there and she was not there (so that I could sign the papers)
I asked her a total of five times to just have the papers there and ready and I would swing by when I could because my hours of work were very similar to hers. She never did this.
The second time I went in looking for her at the time she specified and she wasn't there, I left my key fob there.

What kind if business is this?! I am copying this email and I am prepared to be posting it on every social media outlet, yelp, and my local community pages.

I would like to receive a refund for the last 6 months that my membership should have been cancelled and that is including the 3 months it was supposed to be frozen!
