Complaints are happening at the present time. My brother is on a Cross-Country trip from NYC to Pasco Washington on Amtrak. My brother called me when he reached Chicago to complain to me about his travels on First Class trip on Amtrak paying $3,488.21 and no first-class service that he was told he would receive. The shower in his cabin was not working; the cabin was old and the meals were definitely not First Class. He reported the issues to the attendant and was told to complain to Amtrak. My brother still has a second part of his journey to go and is very disappointed with Amtrak. My brother has taken photos of his accommodations and will send them when he gets home in Kennewick Washington.
This was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime with him losing his wife in December 2025. He always wanted to take a trip Cross-Country by rail, what a disappointment. Definitely not worth the money. My brother is 85 years old and just called me to complain that his train #2730 Cabin A is the last car and he has to walk all the way to the front car for meals, bar, observation car.
Also, the attendant Floyd Batoman stated he would testify the conditions of the train and cabin.
