American Medical Association [AMA] review: beaver medical group discriminatory policy for chronic pain patients cbc thc

My wife has been a chronic pain patient at Beaver Medical for about 8 years . She has been on opioid and benzodiazepines for about 15 yrs. And of course is addicted to them. Now she is being weaned from the benzodiazepines which is ok because they aren't working well and she wants to get off of them. With her primary care doctor giving her the opioid for pain, she signed the pain contract that is standard practice now.She submitted a drug test as required to monitor her opioid use, this is no problem as she takes them as prescribed. A couple of weeks later a nurse called and said you tested positive for thc, this was no surprise as she uses cbd with a small amount of thc for pain and the withdrawals from the benzodiazepines. Both of these are legal in California as you know. The CDC clearly states that drs. Should not test for thc because of unwanted consequences for the patients. This is what is now happening to my wife. The Dr. Informed us that my wife will be weaned from her opioid drug because of the positive thc result. Unless she quits using cbd with the thc, the law says you can use cb d with .o3 % thc, not enough to get you high but enough to fail a drug test. Beaver Medical says it the cbc has to contain 0% thc. When asked the dr. said this is Beaver Medical policy. Because of this policy my wife will be subjected to more pain and more withdrawals, not to mention her rights under the AMA being violated by forcing, coercion, overreach of authority and undo duress, this also negates her right to negotiate aspects of her treatment. Also this Dr. Has said on several occasions I'm not losing my license because of this! The patients treatment? This is crazy and criminal ! Hope this complaint is taken seriously, next step is the media ! This complaint is directed to the Board of Directors Beaver Medical Group Banning California.
