I purchased two recliners from American Factory Direct on Labor Day weekend (September 1st, 2025) after being told they would arrive in “a handful of weeks.” That promise was the deciding factor. What followed has been the worst retail experience of my adult life.
For three months, AFD never contacted me a single time. Not one proactive update. Every vague and shifting delivery estimate came only because I repeatedly called them. When those timeframes passed, I was met with apathy and no accountability from staff. Meanwhile, I was paying monthly for furniture I never received.
When I posted an honest review on their Facebook page describing the situation, AFD deleted the review and blocked me from commenting. Instead of addressing the issue, they silenced it.
Then, in a twist of ironic and highly suspicious timing, I suddenly received an email from AFD saying my chairs were “in stock and ready for delivery” — immediately after filing a BBB complaint and making my experience public. After three months of complete silence, the timing speaks for itself.
Given everything that has happened, we declined delivery and cancelled the order. A full refund has been requested through the BBB.
This entire experience reflects a complete lack of honesty, communication, and responsibility. I strongly advise others to avoid American Factory Direct.
Recommendation: Do not buy
