Ambetter From Western Sky Community Care

Ambetter has been really uncooperative. We paid our 1st premium in Dec 2021 and have been paying monthly since. We got our insurance cards from Ambetter directly before the new year. The Ambetter portal site wouldn't let us in. My wife needed a mammogram, but we couldn't tell if a facility or doctor was covered. So we called on my phone 1/3/2022 at 1:03pm and were on for a total of 1hr 2min and 50sec. We finally got a representative to check and confirm that the facility was covered, we got prior authorization and went to the mammogram appointment at UNM Sandoval Regional Medical center on 1/7/2022. They gave us a bill for $987 UNM Sandoval and Ambetter rejected it on 3/10/2022 saying it was out of network. Ambetter says they have no record of the phone authorization. They also don't acknowledge my wife as a member when we call for help even though we both have cards, member numbers and have been paying 3 months. It took almost 30 representatives over 3 months to approve access to the web portal so we could manage our healthcare. When we call, we hear the message this call is monitored for quality assurance purposes. So, there should be a record of the call and preauthorization. We just want the mammogram to be covered and we'll contact BNM to switch companies because of Ambetter refusing us access to their healthcare portal for more than 2 months as well as misleading business practices.
