On September 5, 2025, I paid well over $2000 to retain the services of the Allmand Law Firm to assist, counsel and guide me through a complicated bankruptcy process. I am in a dire situation and need really good professional advice and guidance.
The person who did the initial interview with me seemed to be very knowledgeable and explained things well enough to earn my confidence and my fee, paid in full. Since that time, I experienced nothing but inattentive and poor service from various paralegals who couldn't communicate well or understand documents I was sending them. This eventually resulted in cancellation of the first appointment I was to have with an attorney.
On several occasions I had to clarify the same message about the documents submitted. One paralegal spoke so softly and with a mumble on the phone that I had to write emails to get clarification of what he was saying.
Documents were delayed. Communication was confusing, frustrating and anxiety producing. This was something I was not looking to experience with professional guidance. It was quite the opposite.
When I finally was able to get to a virtual appointment on 10/13/2025 at 11 am CDT, I encountered someone speaking to me without facial recognition or confirmation of his qualifications. He sounded young and new. And eventually he told me something that was drastically different than what I was told during the initial interview conducted on September 5, 2025. When I asked for clarification he actually told me "our company is very big and we don't know what someone initially told you." And I found that to be absolutely abhorrent. I came to the firm for help and obviously was getting confusing messages and eventually excuses for what I was originally told. This is unprofessional and incompetent.
Anyone in the unfortunate situation of having to file bankruptcy should not have to experience this.
After telling him that I was unhappy with his response and deserved better attention and service, he said he would get someone to speak to me. I waited a few minutes and told him I had no more time to deal with this incompetence.
I left the meeting as I was extremely upset. And I believe rightfully so!
I lost all confidence in this firm knowing my particular situation and giving me solid, compassionate and professional advice. Instead, I experienced the services of a large company trying yet to juggle just another sales statistic.
Further, I wrote an email later in the afternoon on 10/13/2025 and, after 24 hours, have not received a call or reply. Maybe they're too large to get the message through the appropriate paralegal?
On the firm's web portal there is no way to directly send messages and keep records of the communications. Every communication that I had to initiate had to be by phone or email. And they closed my file after the horrendous experience I had with the supposed attorney on 10-13-2025. I was not notified of such. I have not received any communication about my fee.
I find this firm to be incompetent and unprofessional and ignored my concerns, communicated with me poorly and gave excuses for other employees in their "large company."
I deserve a full refund of my fee.
