I am David Teer. I am disabled and on SSN disability. Low income. I am moving back to Alabama after owning a house In Connecticut for 25 years and wife retired.we just got divorced as I stated I am on SSN disability fixed income.

I am moving to Hoover. I called to transfer power at an apartment in Hoover with Alabama power into my name.

They informed me I owe $28.00 from 1999. A 25 year old bill but also said I paid in May and June of 1999. I had Service Cut off June 1st, 1999. I thought I paid in full what I owed. I moved out of state.

Now they said I have a bill for $28.00, if I knew that I would have paid it.

I was settled with them far as I knew and I cannot pay for something I didn't know about. I did have a forwarding address. I always do that. If they checked with The post office they would have found it.

Now they want $340.00 deposit today because of that bill. I offered to pay the 25 year old bill but they said I don't have to pay the bill but I must put a big deposit down instead because of a 1999 $28.00 bill.

This is ridiculous and I am going to fight this. I have excellent credit. I just checked and I have a 829 credit score. I shouldn't have to put up a deposit because of a bill that you don't want me to pay now but keep it on the books for some reason.

But because of the 25 year old bill they say I owe I must put a large deposit up for power. This is like punishing someone for a 25 year old bill which I offered to pay. They say I don't have to pay the bill. However if you don't have to pay a 25 year old bill why do I have to have a big deposit with my excellent credit? Why is it still listed after 25 years? I'm very confused. People that go bankrupt is only on their credit record for 10 years. I mean I was in my 30's and wasn't like I didn't want to pay AP the bills they sent I just didn't know about this one obviously. I thought we were settled and moved out of state. But did have a forwarding address. I do not know what happened. I mean it was only $28.00. And 25 years ago. AP must really be desperate.

I would really like your help to get this resolved this is not fair and $340 deposit for someone that's worked hard on their credit to have a score of 829 over the years to present.

I must have power and if we can we should resolve this!

I am going to report this to every media outlet and every legal public offices too! Because this is not fair and I offered to pay a 25 year old bill. You refused and want $340.00 instead. I mean, what would you do? Please call me if you would like to discuss this matter.

Thank you

David Teer

Desired outcome: No deposit. With my excellent credit. Because of a 25 year old bill that I even offered to pay,
