Affordable InteriorsRecommends unlicensed contractors and holds your property for more than a year

My wife and I hired Affordable Interiors, Inc. in Ann Arbor Michigan because of their name. The first two months went smoothly. But then delays, fabric cancellation and very poor communication derailed our project. We agreed to monthly billing. Cindy stored up 5 Months of billing a socked us with a whopper of an invoice. We were sued by Affordable Interiors and ultimately had to pay for services that were incomplete.

Cindy took our draperies and held onto them for more than 1 year. When she returned the draperies in court they were cut and unusable. The court found in our favor that Cindy held on to these for no good reason and Cindy had to pay us for this. Cindy created a Duvet cover for us made out of an extremely heavy fabric. We wanted a light a fluffy duvet cover. The duvet was made from a fabric heavier than corduroy from the 1980′s. It was so heavy it was not useable. We engaged her in September of 2010 and received the Duvet cover in April of 2011, 7 months later. And it was just horrible – in our opinion.

In court, texts were used to prove Cindy did work – it did not matter that the work was incomplete. Cindy recommended a painting contractor that was not Licensed, Nic Major. This company did sloppy work, did not move furniture, did not pull back curtains but just painted around everything. Their work had to be redone. It was a truly horrible experience.

If you think Cindy/Affordable Interiors is a going to help you make your house into a home or a dream come true, be careful – it was a nightmare for us. I had to pay another designer to again for the same work. I had to pay another painter to fix the poor painting. Ugh – it was just a horrible experience for us. This really disrupted our life. It was supposed to be a treat for my wife to use a professional. We just picked the wrong one.

I would never ever recommend this company at any level, small or large. Buyers beware!
