Today, I missed my cardiologist appointment due to WellMed at 7400 Docs Grove Cir., Orlando Fl 32819. WellMed didn't send the referral to my cardiologist. This referral was requested twice by my cardiologits. The reason given by WellMed to me was "that according to my insurance policy United Healthcare, the doctor needs to see me periodically in order to get a referral". I called UnitedHealth care, and I was told that this was not true. I walked into WellMed office while having United Healthcare representative on my phone and let the front desk attendant talk with the Advocate from United Healthcare. I waited about one hour trying to obtain the reason why I need to see the doctor so often, there was nothing noted on my chart. They only want me to go to the office to bill my insurance company for the visit. I have been with WellMed less than a year, and every time there is problems with this company. I am an oncologist patient that gets checked by my oncologist every three weeks, and my labs are done in my oncologist office every three weeks. Why do I have to go and see my primary constantly? if there is no need. As an oncologist patient going to a clinic constantly, I only exposing myself to get sick due to my weak immune system due to current treatment.
Recommendation: Don't go to WellMed for medical care, find another Primary Care. They are the worst company to deal with.
