I been using WebSleuths for a long time, like since the Scott Peterson trial. They got forums where people talk about criminal cases. It used to be more chill, but now it's too strict, in my opinion.

I know it's their site and they can do what they want, but other reviews are right. There's a few "regulars" that can say whatever they want and if you don't agree with them, you might get banned.

Besides the cliquey stuff, they don't like anything from "new media." They only want "main stream media," which means they only talk about stuff after it's already over.

One thing that's really messed up is how they support people who act crazy. Like with Gabby Petito, they said everything was domestic violence. I don't know what's wrong with them, but they might need help. The Covid forum is another example. They only talk about how bad it is and if you say anything different, you get banned.

It's too bad because some people are nice there, but they might ban you for no reason.

Websleuths is, like, really, really bad. I mean, seriously, it's like the worst site ever. The people who run it are like a bunch of bullies who think they're better than everyone else. They control everything and if you don't agree with them, they'll kick you off the site faster than you can say "conspiracy theory."

The name of the site is totally misleading. You'd think you could actually do some investigating or sleuthing, but nope. You can only post stuff that the moderators approve of. And if they don't like what you're saying, they'll just delete it. It's like they're trying to control everything you do.

And don't even think about trying to leave the site. Once you sign up, you're stuck there forever. They won't let you delete your account, even if you beg them. It's like they're holding your personal information hostage or something.

Plus, the site is just covered in ads. It's like they're trying to make money off of every single thing you do. And they're always begging for money too. It's like, come on, give it a rest already.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Websleuths to anyone. It's just a terrible site run by terrible people.

I recently joined WebSleuths, but I wish I had done my research on the owner, Tricia Griffith, before signing up. It turns out that she's not exactly the most trustworthy person. For one thing, she's added a video ad company to the site so that she can make money off of it. But when members started complaining about their data being eaten up by the ads, Tricia didn't seem to care. She just said that she was trying to fix the problem, but that it was difficult because she had to talk to people in another country. And when members tried to post apps to block the ads, Tricia just deleted them.

It wasn't until weeks later that Tricia finally admitted that she needed money to keep the site going. And the reason for all the annoying ads? That was just her way of trying to get people to join her podcast, which she apparently thinks will make her famous. But let me tell you, her podcast is boring and her voice is annoying. She's clearly just using the site to try to make a name for herself.

But that's not even the worst part. It seems that Tricia has a history of using scare tactics to get people to donate to her. She's always coming up with new schemes to beg for money, and I have to wonder if she's even reporting all the funds she's collecting to the IRS. And how much is she making off of the site anyway? It's got to be a lot of money.

Honestly, Tricia is just a dried up, bleached blonde scam artist who's trying to feed her own ego. She's abusing GoFundMe and engaging in unethical business practices, and she needs to be reported to the state commission. I know that there are a lot of older retired members on the site who don't have a lot of money to spare, and it's not fair that Tricia is taking advantage of them. So do yourself a favor and report her to the state of Utah.

I just joined WebSleuths and I gotta say, I was not impressed. After only two days, I asked for my account to be deleted. Let me tell you why.

First of all, they censor everything. I mean, everything. It's hard to have a conversation when you can't even use someone's name in a case, not even the victim's. You have to use initials. It's like trying to solve a puzzle with half the pieces missing.

Secondly, the rules are ridiculous. I tried to post a witness statement that was on Facebook, but I couldn't post it word for word. I had to paraphrase it. I mean, come on. This is a crime site. We need all the information we can get. And don't even get me started on the fact that you can't discuss possible suspects or make any accusations against anyone in the case. What's the point of being a sleuth if you can't even sleuth?

And let me tell you, the moderators have no sense of humor. I made a joke about a town being addicted to holy water and they clipped my post and told me I was rude. Meanwhile, people are calling each other meth heads left and right. It's like they have no consistency.

I could go on and on about the ridiculous rules and the overbearing censorship, but the final straw for me was the name-calling. They deleted my post because I called someone a name. I mean, come on. Deleting my post would have been enough. But no, they had to delete my whole account.

So, if you're thinking about joining WebSleuths, I would think twice. The conversation gets recycled a lot because of the limitations on speech and the inability to actually sleuth. It's just not worth it.

For instance, tonight there's a video posted from a mainstream news source about the Gabby Petito case. John Walsh is being interviewed, and he calls the suspect a "dirt bag" and some other colorful names. But when a member quoted him, that member's comment got deleted, and their account got banned. How is it okay for a mainstream media personality to say something on the air, but it's not allowed to be said in the forum? This is just one of hundreds of ridiculous examples I've seen. The moderation on this site is probably the most draconian of any site on the internet.

The forum software is extremely outdated and a potential Java security risk if you visit. Make sure your browser is up to date with full anti-virus before visiting. Even then, there is a risk of being hacked. That site is a hacker's dream.

The owner has no money and begs daily, threatening that the site will go offline unless you make a donation. She begs like a child wanting her toys. It's really sad. I think she's probably a nice lady, but she needs to seriously invest in updated and safe forum software. She also needs to fire that SillyBilly person, as I see her acting like a little Hitler. It's pathetic.

They claim law enforcement checks their site, and they might because there are some good posters there. But it could be so much better if the annoyingly strict and contradictory moderation policies were removed. There's no need for a free-for-all, but when you allow MSM to call a suspect a dirt bag but not your members, that's just stupid. This is one of hundreds of examples of the idiots moderating the forum.

I joined Websleuths a while back for the discussions. I thought it was a well-run ship, with only verified media links allowed, so I felt it was a good place for accurate information. But boy oh boy, was I in for a shock. The first time I posted, several members attacked my post and were seriously rude to me. I posted a possibility in one missing person's case, and suddenly several of them were posting nonsense about taxis and how they didn't think my idea was likely. They ganged up on me like a pack of schoolyard bullies. They think they are the only ones whose thoughts on the matter count. Rude personal remarks were frequently made by a few particular members. This behavior is against the mighty TOS, as moderators remind people frequently. However, these people were allowed to carry on, and their posts were not deleted.

I'm not the only one to be treated in this manner. I've heard there is quite a nasty clique on there who are exempt from the rules as they donate or are friends with the owner/moderators and are therefore exempt from the TOS. Most of the moderators must not have ever had any site moderation experience. Sillybilly (what an appropriate name) is the worst of them all. I think he is on a serious power trip and likes to throw his weight around. Moderators do not like being called out on their bad behavior, people have been given bans just for challenging them.

Right now, the owner is begging members to give her money to give to the moderators, instead of giving them a Christmas bonus herself. Her usual excuse when she's begging for money is that Websleuths is about to collapse because she can't pay the bills. Her vulgarity is unbelievable; she has posted her begging in the middle of missing and murdered people threads with no thought for how their families might feel.

Basically, if you like being bullied, having a pack of mean girls gang up on you in a thread, and being berated for standing up for yourself when you are abused, then by all means join. Otherwise, avoid Websleuths like the plague. This review is based on my experience as a member, and all IMO JMO and MOO.

Some threads become very long not because of a lot of movement or analysis in the case, but because some people don't read the thread before posting, even if it's just a page or two back. Others post comment after comment without saying anything productive. It seems like a contest to see who can end up with the most posts. I think some members believe they will get to become a moderator and influence the direction of the website if they reach a certain number of posts.

I wouldn't recommend the website to people who are sensitive, as they are the ones most likely to care about crime victims. If you don't already suffer from depression, you probably will after joining WebSleuths. Not only will you be reading about terrible crimes people commit, but you'll also be treated poorly by other members.

Some of the threads have nothing to do with helping the victim, but instead are just post after post telling the reader to go get info from Facebook. If you read a thread about a missing child, you'll be subjected to a never-ending chorus of complaints about CPS. They also have over 100 threads for Gabriel Petito in which it's a free-for-all bashing the boyfriend's family and sharing their personal details.

However, the site does offer the opportunity for people to bring together skills from all different walks of life, and information is shared that can lead to real solutions in some of these cases. Many unidentified individuals have gotten their names and dignity returned to them, and clues have helped law enforcement make progress in solving murders or finding missing persons. The moderators do help to keep the crazies at bay, at least those that are obviously wearing tinfoil hats. The site does offer a large number of resources for families of those who are missing, and can be a really good source of support.

Overall, there's a lot of good on this site, but you have to wade through an endless amount of hooey to get there.

The sixth and seventh amendments of the constitution are based on Benjamin Franklin's quote, "Better to set 100 guilty men free, then to convict one innocent man." I completely agree with this quote because being wrongly convicted and sent to prison for the rest of your life or majority of your life is unimaginable. That's why I joined Websleuth's forum, but I quickly realized that they only allow you to take one side, which is whatever side the majority of Websleuther's are taking. If you argue for the defense, they will see it as you attacking the victims, which is not true. It's important to consider all sides of the story and debate it civilly to ensure that the person being charged is actually guilty. That's what our entire justice system is based upon.

Unfortunately, as a society, we've made it entirely acceptable to base guilt on someone's behavior, which is wrong. Guilt should be based on evidence, tangible evidence that cannot be refuted. Even technology can be wrong, so it's important to analyze and consider all factors, not just behavior. If the prosecution based their evidence on behavior and had very little physical evidence, they would lose all my respect immediately.

If you join Websleuth's forum, don't make the mistake of thinking that you can freely say what you think. If you don't think like the majority, you will be verbally attacked and booted. They even demand to know your real name and for you to prove it to them before you join, which is not good. The whole point of forums is anonymity. I'm not going to give my real anything to a website ran by an owner I don't even know.

I gave Websleuth's forum 2 stars instead of 1 because they are a good source for information about a case, and some of them come up with brilliant theories of what may have happened to victims and missing people. However, they need to work just as hard to make sure the one being accused is truly guilty. It seems like they just run with the suspect named in a case without even questioning it, which is terribly wrong. They need to examine and analyze if the suspect named in a case is truly guilty. If I was a jury member, I need to be certain without a shadow of a doubt to convict someone of a crime and send them to prison. I want justice for a victim, but I want it done in the correct way, and there is no greater justice than to make sure that the right person is convicted of the crime.

Overall, my opinion of this website is very poor. They are very controlling, and it's driving them insane that they cannot control my post about them. Ahahahahaha.
