Driver fault/property damage
On Monday, November 20th 2023, the WM driver servicing 4461 Palmcrest Lane, Fort Myers FL 33908 mistakenly cut a turn too narrow, and the top of the vehicle pulled down a power line causing the power pole on the property and also breaking the embedded support pole. On the same day, I spoke to representative Anna Cook who admitted there was a new driver, and he was not familiar with the route and had used the incorrect vehicle (height specific). I spoke to the neighbor who assisted the shaken driver and safely coiled the live voltage wire away from the vehicle who verified it was a new/never seen driver - who went through the route after the normal pick-up delivery was completed earlier that day. This was also verified by Anna Cook, who then back peddled, then scrambled off the phone once she started communication with a new party on her side (a male voice). The next day, she denied everything, refused to produce any reports, and multiple requests for her supervisor to call me have been unmet. FPL confirmed WM is without question,100% at fault (not new news to me), and they have already began the claims process and in his 15 years of experience, here was "zero percent chance they we won't be paid for their mistake".

See photo, this was how our garbage cans were left yesterday, including trash in the road that fell out when they were dumped. Our cans are left in the driveway every week, 2 feet apart, and have been for 27 years. Unacceptable.
There is a growing opinion in our county to contact the powers that be to find an alternative garbage service due to the constant issues people have had with your company in our state, and in Snohomish County in particular. Billing issues as well as incidents such as this.
We have been billed for extra pick up when due to weather service was missed a week. We have been left numerous picky notices, cans too big, too heavy, an empty insulin syringe was accidentally left in one - NO NEEDLE - and boy did we hear from someone. We've been told this is acceptable by the pharmacy who handles the medical waste disposal of needles. But we received a very rude phone call about it. We replaced our cans with exact WM specifications, even with the bar on front so the vehicle can pick them up.
We've done our part, I would expect you would do yours.
Desired outcome: Hire competent people who care, as well as Customer Service Reps who do what they say they will. They do not.

Our regular pick up day is Thursday. We received an email regarding last weeks pickup, Nov 23. Due to this being Thanksgiving our pickup would be Friday, November 24. As of today, Tues. Nov. 28, our dumpster is FULL. I called and spoke to Dale in the Commercail division. He assured me he would contact dispatch and have a turck at our business TODAY by 6 PM.. did not happen. WE ARE GOING ON 2 WEEKS WITHOUT SERVICE!

Extra pickup missed
I requested an extra pickup and was told that it would be picked up on the same day as my regular trash. My trash from the container got picked up and a few hours had passed. I called customer service and they said that it's a different vehicle that picks up the extra bags and that it had 10 stops left. I was told it would be picked up by 12pm. The bags stayed by the curb all weekend. I called yesterday and it was a 5 minute wait time, understandable. I opted to get called back, I got a call back and after hearing my complaint the lady asked me to hold. I waited for over 20 minutes and hung up. I still need these extra trash bags picked up, I brought them inside. I just want my trash picked up.

Excessive charges
We had a commercial account with them for 10yrs, their rate kept going up, we were paying $252 for three 96 containers, I was told I had to pay early termination fee if we want to cancel early, so we waited till the contract ended(aug 2023) and I called in October to cancel the account, I was told there’s going to be a removal fee of $300 which I find ridiculous, I told them I can send the containers back myself, apparently that’s not an optional. Today I saw my bill, which I find crazy, THEY’RE CHARGING US $300 PER CONTAINER plus 160.47 energy surcharge for removal, the total bill is $1100, this is ridiculous! We didn’t break the contract and we still being punished for not using their service, they want to charge us how ever they want! Worst company ever!

Trash pickup
My trash is being spilled all over the road every time it gets picked up. Monday and Thursdays are our area. It never fails that my home seems to be targeted for all the disgusting spills from the trash bin. I’m not sure if it’s the same person everytime. What I do know is that as many times as it has happened it’s. O longer just a coincidence. This is being done intentionally. I want it to stop. I’m constantly picking up trash from my neighbors yard and apologizing for something I didn’t do.

Our driveway serves up to 7 housing units, so there can be a lot of cans on the side of the driveway. The garbage guy isn't returning cans to where he found them. This has occasionally happened with recycle also. 2-3 cans are left in the driveway and it causes a safety hazard with cars pulling out into the road to see around them. There isn't enough shoulder to leave them on the side of the road, so we place them in the grass beside the driveway. ALL cans need to be replaced across the ditch, where they were found. This is complaint #5 about this issue. The first time, I filled out the online form. The next 2 weeks, my husband called. Last week, I called. If you can't get the message to the drivers to put the cans back across the ditch, I will be meeting them at pick up time to be sure they get the message.
Desired outcome: Put all cans back where they came from - in the grass beside the driveway across the ditch.

2nd pickup in a row that was missed.
Scheduled trash pickup scheduled for Monday, November 13, was missed. Then, the next trash pickup scheduled for Thursday, November 16, was missed. I pay for this service through my taxes, and I'm not getting what I pay for. Since our pickup schedule is on Mondays and Thursdays, we get penalized because most holidays are on Mondays when there is no pickup, and Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday - so we pay the same as everyone else but get less pickups. So, when any pickups are missed, it is extremely unfair and costly to us.
Claimed loss: Loss has been that the service I pay for isn't happening. Loss has been the annoyance of trash not picked up. Loss has been how many times I have to contact Waste Management about this problem.
Desired outcome: Since our schedule is on Mondays & Thursdays, we get penalized because most holidays are on Mondays with no pickup and Thanksgiving is always on Thursday so we pay the same as everyone else but get less pickups. Pick up or change schedule.

Payments
Looking at my bank statement, I noticed duplicate payments. There's a payment on 10/11/23, 10/31/23, and again on 9/1/23 and 11/12/23. I contacted someone about this and she said that one of Octobers payments were for September which is not true because there was a payment made on 9/11/23. So they basically told me I was wrong and refused to give an explanation or resolution. This company is nothing but problems

Missed trash pick up
On several occasions the trash truck drives right by my barrel and I'll file a complaint for missed pick up and the driver will say my barrel wasn't out which is false. This time to try and say my barrel wasn't out, they took a picture and it's a picture down the street where you can't even see my driveway. So the girl is trying to say but the picture shows no barrel. I took my auto payment off and I said you'll get payment when I get decent service. Basically they called me a liar because the driver took a false photo.

Customer service and service day driver
I called customer service and asked for them to send a reminder to the driver to remind him that we haven't had our service yet. The agent over the phone was not friendly and tried to resolve my problem!

We are located in a plaza and have 2 ways to enter the parking lots your driver only tries 1 enter and states car parks on the street blocking his way and can't enter! Is that how you guys educated the driver to be service us like that! Overcharged
My garbage and recycling has always been about $141.
I've been a WM customer for 4 years.
Why TF am I being charged over $160 ?! My services have remained the same and half the time you don't even take all my trash!

Thursday November 26 is my trash and recycle pickup day .For some unknown reason the recycle trash was not picked up. All of my neighbors recycle was picked up today. This is not the first time this has happened. I have called waste management quite a few times about the recycle not being picked up. Your company provides services to the village of Matteson and I'm a resident of the village and pay for your services through the village so therefore I do expect for services to be rendered. No container
on 9/18 my container was taken due to it being cracked ( i have requested a new container before, but did not receive one) Now WM has taken my container and failed to provide me with a new one for over a month. i keep getting it will be another 5-7 business days. Not having an outside container is very impactful. I have to keep trash inside and cannot put it out until the last minute.
Desired outcome: A new outside container delivered to my address ASAP.
