Waste Management Unreliable and Overpriced: My Experience with Waste Management

I gotta say, Waste Management ain't worth the money. Their service is unreliable, with missed pick-ups happening all the time and no effort to make it right. And don't even get me started on their customer service reps - they're overpriced and poorly trained.

I cancelled my service on January 17th, and got confirmation that autopay was cancelled. The service rep said everything was taken care of and that my cans would be removed on the 19th. But guess what? Only half of them were taken away. And to top it off, I was billed the full amount on January 21st for services that hadn't even been rendered yet.

Let me give you some background: on January 5th, one of my trash cans wasn't emptied (which happened a lot), so I reported it and asked for it to be picked up. They said they'd get it on the next pick-up day, January 12th. But then on the 12th, a different trash can was missed, so I asked them to come and pick up two cans worth of trash. They said they'd service as usual on the 19th, and that I could put out bagged trash instead. That was the last straw, so I cancelled on January 17th.

It's now January 27th, and two scheduled service days have come and gone. They told me the cans will be removed on February 2nd. And get this - they said the billing was my fault for not cancelling autopay manually. But the agent I talked to when I cancelled said I didn't need to do anything else, and I got an email confirming that autopay was cancelled on the 17th. Poor communication, if you ask me.

My final bill for four trash cans, one blue can, and one green can serviced weekly was $181.23! That's outrageous. I switched to EDCO, where I'm getting a fifth trash can and paying half the price.

Do yourself a favor and avoid Waste Management. And watch out for their $75 cancellation fee - just refuse it and they'll take it off.

Waste Management Waste Management's Recycling Service: A Game-Changer with One Major Flaw

I've been using Waste Management since 2001 and overall, I'm pretty happy with their service. However, as a 68-year-old with a long driveway, it's been a bit of a struggle to drag those individual recycling containers down for pick up, especially during the winter months when there's snow and ice to contend with. To make matters worse, every winter we'd end up with at least one container that had the corners broken out due to being dropped into each other (brrr, it's cold out there!).

So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and purchased a rolling cart to hold our recycling. It was a game-changer! Not only was it easier for me to manage, but it was also easier for the driver. The trucks are capable of lifting up rolling containers for recycling, so before putting it into use, I made sure that the driver could actually use the truck's lifting mechanism for recycling and that he wouldn't have to lift it himself to dump. It worked like a charm and the driver was very appreciative. It was three less containers he had to bend over and lift every week, and he thanked me for making his job a little easier.

However, after a year of no issues, the driver didn't pick up our recycling. It turns out that since I had turned in the three broken containers when I started using the rolling container, Waste Management discontinued our recycling service altogether. I called customer service to ask about trash pickup (not recycling) and was told that it appears the driver had been picking up the rolling container out of habit and we needed to go back to the individual containers if we wanted to continue our service. I explained my age and difficulty with the small containers, and how the rolling container not only was easier for me, but also for their drivers. Unfortunately, my plea fell on deaf ears.

I was disappointed that Waste Management wasn't more customer-oriented. The trucks have the capability to handle rolling containers, and it would save on driver back problems as well as be easier on older adults with empty nests like me. Oh well, I guess I'll have to go back to dragging those individual containers down the driveway.

Waste Management Waste Management Review: Unreliable Service and Blame Game

I've been using Waste Management for about a year now, but I recently switched over to Priority. I had a lot of issues with WM, especially when it came to them missing my trash pickup at least once a month. Whenever I spoke to them about it, they always blamed me for the issue, even though it was never my fault. It was really frustrating to deal with this every month.

One time, they didn't pick up my trash because it weighed over 50lb, but I knew that wasn't the case. I offered to go out and weigh every piece of trash to show them that it wasn't too heavy for them to move, but they still didn't pick it up. Another time, they said my trash wasn't out on time, even though I had placed it out the night before. There were even a few times when they claimed my trash wasn't out, but I saw them pass by on the main street and not pull into our private street.

It seemed like every month they blamed me for their mistake, and on March 7th, 2023, I had had enough. They were supposed to pick up my trash, but they didn't. When I chatted with them about it, they first said my bin was frozen to the ground, but when I asked for video evidence, they changed their story to say that the street wasn't safe for the driver. When I confronted them about changing their story, the chat magically ended.

I started another chat, and the person I spoke with said that my street wasn't safe and that trash pickup would be the following week. I didn't understand how the street could suddenly be unsafe, especially since it was way after the snowstorm. I also didn't know what to do with the extra trash since my bin was already full and couldn't weigh more than 50lb.

That was the last straw for me. I called and cancelled my service with WM and switched to Priority, who don't have a limit on their trash and are very reliable, according to my neighbors.

I recently chatted with WM again to make sure they would pick up my empty bin, but the chat ended abruptly. It seems like their solution to everything is to hang up or end the chat. I attached a photo of the chat for reference. Overall, I would not recommend Waste Management based on my experience.

Waste Management Unfair Billing Practices: My Frustrating Experience with Waste Management

I've had some issues with Waste Management in the past, and unfortunately, I'm still dealing with them now. Over the last five years, I've had to contact them twice about incorrect billing. The first time, they suspended my service for the summer, but when they started it up again, they didn't bother to let me know. I only found out when I received a bill for six months of service that I hadn't even had. It took months of phone calls and letters to finally get them to stop billing me.

The second time is ongoing right now. I own a rental property that my daughter was living in until her home was burglarized while she was away getting married. The thieves took everything, including the doorknobs and lights. I had to hire a handyman to replace everything, and my daughter was too scared to go back for a while. I'm disabled, so I couldn't start repairs until 14 months later when I was able to stay in the home and make sure it was safe. During that time, all utilities were off, including Waste Management service.

When I started staying in the home in March 2017, I only turned on the water and sewage to clean and paint. I didn't need Waste Management service since the home was vacant. However, they started billing me without even bothering to ask if I needed their service. I didn't even have a tote for garbage, so I had to bag it up and take it home to save money.

I sold the home in June 2017, but Waste Management is still billing me for six months of service that I didn't even use. I've provided them with proof that I no longer own the home and that it's been vacant for the past 23 months, but they refuse to take the bill away.

It's frustrating because they force you to pay for water and sewage even if you're just cleaning or painting. The policy should be changed, especially since so many people are struggling financially. Waste Management is a million-dollar company, and they should be more understanding of situations like mine. I even sent them pictures of the home being boarded up for over 14 months, but they still won't budge. It's a shame that a company that's supposed to help manage waste can't manage their own billing system.

Waste Management Poor Customer Service and Unprofessional Behavior from Waste Management

I had a pretty frustrating experience with Waste Management recently. My husband and I had a mix-up with our trash pick-up schedule over the summer, and ended up with two weeks worth of trash that wouldn't fit in our barrels. We called the office and they said it was okay to leave bags outside the barrels, but apparently the driver didn't get the memo. He started taking pictures of our overflowing trash and threatening to charge us extra. When my husband explained the situation, the driver got really angry and rude.

After that, the driver seemed to have a grudge against us. He would give us a hard time even if our lid was slightly open, claiming we had too much trash. Then, last week, I put my trash out at the usual time and the driver was nowhere to be seen. I waited for a while, but eventually saw him sitting across the street on his phone. My trash was never picked up, so I called the office to ask what was going on. The woman I spoke to was extremely rude and unhelpful. She said they could send the driver back, but we would be charged extra, or we could wait until next week. I was really frustrated because it was Thanksgiving the next day and we needed our trash picked up before we started cooking.

Overall, I was really disappointed with Waste Management's customer service. The driver was rude and unprofessional, and the woman I spoke to on the phone was no better. It's clear that they don't care about their customers and are only interested in making money. I would not recommend using them if you have other options.

Waste Management Terrible Customer Service Experience with Waste Management: Overcharging, Rude Representatives, and Unresolved Issues

So, I had a driver come to pick up my waste container and I asked him to confirm that it would only be an extra $10 to keep it an extra day. He went back to his truck, made a call, came back and confirmed that it would be $10 for them to pick it up the next day. Three months later, I received an email explaining that I owed $6.66. However, when I followed the link to their website, I found an invoice for $273.19! I was astounded by the charge and assumed that an error had occurred on their side, so I called customer service to inquire about the charges.

The agent explained that there was a charge of over a hundred dollars for "refusing the driver" and the rest appeared to be late fees associated with not paying this down. I asked what could be done about this as a representative of the company (the driver) had confirmed the price ($10) and I would have otherwise been glad for him to take it and throw the last couple of things I had in with my regular trash. This representative was rude and tried to explain to me repeatedly why there was a charge, which I made clear I already understood at this point. The question was how we were to resolve the issue.

When the representative said she was trying to explain 'why' to me again, but that I was cutting her off (I respectfully was, this was the third repeat), I asked for a manager. After some time, a manager came on the line and said she would take care of this issue and remove the charges (after 40 minutes on the phone). I was so relieved! However, we were then disconnected and I was left hoping that this supervisor would call me back to finish resolving the issue.

I decided to take matters into my own hands and called back, asking for a call back from a supervisor through the automated system. I received a call back and was patched through to a personable supervisor that finished removing the excess charges from my account. If the first representative had been less rude, it would have been four stars.

But, the story doesn't end there. It is now September 2nd and I just received a bill for the same initial $274. The agent I called isn't able to see that the math doesn't add up. I am so frustrated with this company and if this is not resolved, I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. To make matters worse, a supervisor hung up on me after I asked to speak with her supervisor.

Overall, I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Waste Management. While the initial driver was helpful, the customer service representatives were rude and unhelpful. The fact that I am still dealing with this issue months later is unacceptable. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Waste Management Waste Management: A Dishonest Scam with Hidden Fees and Petty Games

I can't believe how much Waste Management is getting away with. I decided to cancel my service because of the high cost and all the extra charges they don't tell you about upfront. They hit you with all kinds of fees like "environmental", "regulatory cost recovery", and "administrative" charges. It's ridiculous! And when I called to cancel, they told me I'd have to pay an extra $75 fee. I mean, seriously? I didn't even sign a contract, and I was canceling at the end of a prepaid three-month quarter. But I figured they'd do something like that, so I wasn't too surprised.

Then, three months into my service period, I got hit with a random "setup" charge for $85. And of course, that included a bunch of extra fees they didn't tell me about. It was like they were trying to play petty games to keep me from canceling. And to top it off, the $75 cancellation fee also included those extra charges, so it ended up being even higher than I expected.

But that's not all. They billed me for services starting in December, even though I didn't move in until mid-January. I told them this when I set up the account, but they didn't listen. I was getting bills sent to my old address, and I didn't even receive them until after I moved. And when I tried to explain this to them over the phone, they just kept saying "I do show..." and taking no responsibility. It was only a $23 charge, but it's the principle of the matter.

Overall, Waste Management is a scam. They're dishonest and will do anything to nickel and dime you. If you get sucked in, even for a short period, expect to take a huge hit. I wouldn't recommend their services to anyone. You're better off letting your waste stink up the house.

Waste Management Unjustified Expenses and Bad Management: Our Experience with Waste Management

Me and my fellow residents at Park View Condo Inc. on 5219 N Potawatomie, Chicago IL *** have been using Waste Management for over 17 years. However, in March 2022, we decided to change our board association due to dissatisfaction with many unjustified expenses and bad management. That's when we discovered that Waste Management was ripping us off every single month by charging us outrageous amounts. We were paying over $2800 and even close to $4000 every month. We were shocked and decided to contact Waste Management to get to the bottom of this.

We got in touch with our account manager, Anthony Martinez, and begged him to work with us on a new deal that would reduce our costs and allow us to continue to pay the bill. We explained to him that we were broke, didn't have almost anything in reserves, and were desperate to fight for our building. He promised to give us a new contract and lower our monthly bill. However, instead of doing that, he gave us a new deal reducing only $41! We didn't give up and called him again, asking him to take us seriously or forward us to another manager that could help us. But Anthony was too busy and uninterested to help us.

We are 30 apartments, and many residents are old and trying to survive on what they have. Many do not work and are scared of what awaits them ahead. However, only last year (2021), we paid over $34,000 for Waste Management, and we are up to date with payments. This is in the conditions in which the buildings next to us pay around $5000 for the whole of 2021. We asked for quotes from Flood Brothers and Groom, and both quotes did not exceed $800/month! We were shocked and felt like we were being taken advantage of by Waste Management.

We also complained that their driver was coming to pick up the garbage between 6 am and 6.50 am when in the contract, it is mentioned 7 am because we are residential. The driver is just taking a picture of the dumpster and leaving because the alley is blocked before 7 am in the morning. And we still pay for pick-up! We felt like we were being cheated and not getting the service we were paying for.

We have been loyal customers of Waste Management for over 17 years, and we expected them to value and respect us. We didn't ask them to help us for free. We just expected competitive and fair rates. We begged them to help us survive, and they turned their backs on us after all these years of paying them royalties. And their account executive, Anthony Martinez, either he's just a beginner or he doesn't care!

We hope that Waste Management takes our concerns seriously and works with us to find a solution that benefits both parties. We want to continue using their services, but we cannot afford to pay such high rates. We hope that they value our loyalty and work with us to find a solution that works for everyone.

Waste Management Terrible Customer Service: Waste Management Review

I never really had any experiences with Waste Management before moving into the country. I had always lived in town and never really had to deal with my garbage/recycling not getting picked up. But when my husband and I purchased our home from his grandparents, who had built the house 20+ years ago, we started using Waste Management for our garbage and recycling pick-up. During the time my husband's grandparents lived here, they NEVER had an issue with their garbage getting picked up. However, in 2021, the year we purchased the home, there was one instance where they stated that the garbage cans were frozen to the ground. However, there were no tracks leading to the garbage cans, so they never actually checked the cans. According to the service history that we have access to online, this happened around 0630 am. At that time they said they normally just wait until the following week/service day. They were going to charge us to pick up early, but were kind enough to do an early pick up at no charge.

Fast forward to winter season of [protected]. Right before Christmas 2022, our garbage and recycling were not picked up. They said that they could not service our home because of the weather. This meant that we had to either drive our garbage/recycling down or wait it out. They also DO NOT take more garbage than what fits in the can, and if something falls out they DO NOT get out and pick it up. Mind you, we are the last house on the route and EVERYONE ELSE on the route got their garbage/recycling picked up. For obvious reasons, we were not happy. We spoke to the manager and that is when they said that they could give us a credit after I stated that I was ready to cancel our service and figure something else out. After all, why pay for a service that is not going to work with you, right? We then waited to see what the credit would be... ready for this? It was $4.00. I'm sorry but with the price of gas being over $3 per gallon, it would cost more for me to drive there and drop it off. They should know, they charge us almost $45.00 just for the gas every 3 months just to empty garbage cans that they're NOT picking up!

January 2023. Again, our garbage was not picked up. We checked our online account and it stated that our home was serviced at 0636 AM. When my husband left for work at 0715 AM it was not picked up. When I returned home at 1330 PM (1:30 PM) it was still not picked up. I then called the following day (today) to complain and talk to customer service and they told me, again, that I would have to wait for the following service date... At this point I am done. I am awaiting a phone call from the Operations Manager at this time and have cancelled my service.

The problem is that NO ONE else will service us at our address. We live LITERALLY on the corner of 3 different village lines and NO ONE wants to claim our address for garbage pick up except for Waste Management, even though the house across the street has like 2 or 3 different options. Waste Management's customer service is terrible. If I pay for a service, I expect the service. Period. I DO NOT recommend Waste Management at all.

Waste Management Waste Management Review: Unorganized and Unreliable Service with Poor Customer Communication

I gotta say, I'm not one to jump on the review bandwagon and bash a company, but I had an experience with Waste Management that I just gotta share. Maybe it'll help someone else out there decide if they wanna use this company or not.

So, I bought a house in Gratiot County, MI and was supposed to close in February. I work third shift, so I was looking for a company that serviced the area online during my break time. Waste Management's website let me set everything up online, which was super convenient. But then my closing date got pushed back to April, and I had to ask the sellers to store the trash cart at the residence until we closed. I paid the bill for the two months I wasn't using the service, but that was my issue, not Waste Management's.

Fast forward to fall of 2021. I had a bag of leaves in the garage, and since I had room in the trash cart, I rolled up the bag and threw it on top of the trash before taking it to the road. When I came home, the trash had been emptied, but they just threw the bag of leaves in my yard and left them there. The top of my trash cart was wide open, and it obviously had an inch of water in the bottom. I filed a complaint, and the local manager called me back. He was understanding, but he told me that you can't throw yard waste in the landfill. I agreed, but I also said they could have thrown the bag back in my yard cart and shut the top.

Then in July of 2022, my trash didn't get picked up for two weeks in a row. I reached out to customer service chat, and they told me my payment was denied, even though I had auto pay set up. I logged in and took care of it, but my account got cancelled because I missed one payment after a year and a half. They told me I had a $50 balance, even though they hadn't provided service to me in three weeks. I asked them to come get their trash cart out of my yard, and they agreed, but then they told me I had a balance. They finally waved the balance, but then my Waste Management cart was gone, and a brand-new Grainger cart was at the end of my driveway. I never ordered service from Grainger, but the lady told me that Waste Management had been taken over by Grainger in my area. I didn't get a letter from them explaining the situation, but it all worked out in the end.

My biggest complaints are that I have auto pay set up for a reason, and Waste Management didn't call me or anything to tell me my payment was late. They cancelled my service without any notice, and they tried to charge me for a service I wasn't receiving while selling my trash service to another company without letting me know. I'm now with a local company, and I can talk to someone on the phone when I call. Waste Management may have a policy to cancel someone without notice, but I don't do business with people who treat customers that way for one occurrence of a late payment that wasn't my fault. The service itself wasn't horrible, just very unorganized.

Waste Management Beware of This Company: Unauthorized Charges and Poor Customer Service

This company is not to be trusted! If you have another option, go with that instead. I cancelled my service with them on June 18 and they picked up my tote within a week. But then, on July 6, they took out the service fee for July-September from my account! I was so upset and called to complain. The agent told me that I would get a credit for that fee on my final bill. But when I got my final bill on July 15, there was no credit for the service I paid for but couldn't use. I called them again and the agent said she couldn't do anything about the July payment but she helped me stop them from taking any more money from my bank account. I checked my portal and it showed that the authority was turned off. The two payments were almost the same, so they had already taken all the money they were owed.

Then, on August 6, I got a notification that they had taken the July 15 payment from my bank account, even though I had told them to stop! If you have to use this company, never, ever give them access to your bank account. They will take out any money they want, even if you tell them to stop. Just pay them by check or use the Bill Pay service from your bank. Don't make the same mistake I did!

Waste Management Terrible Experience with Waste Management: Poor Customer Service and Billing Errors

I gotta say, I've had some pretty rough experiences with Waste Management. Like, seriously, from the very beginning it's been a total headache. I called them up to start service and it took me a solid 15 minutes just to get to the right person. And then, wouldn't you know it, they dropped my call! I had to call back not once, but twice before I finally got everything set up. And even then, it wasn't smooth sailing.

A couple weeks later, they up and took our trash bin! Can you believe it? I called them up and they told me that service was never actually set up in the first place. Apparently, the previous owner closed the account and they just assumed we didn't need the bin anymore. I mean, come on! So I had to go through the whole rigmarole again, getting passed around and hung up on and all that jazz. Eventually, they said they got it sorted out and we'd have our bin back in no time.

Well, it took them a week longer than they said it would, but we finally got our bin back. And then, wouldn't you know it, they messed up our billing! Our service address was all wrong and we were paying $30 more per month than everyone else in the neighborhood. I mean, what gives? So I called them up again, got passed around some more, and eventually they told me to call my account manager. I left her a message and waited. And waited. And waited some more. No call back. So I left another message. And still nothing!

Finally, I decided to try the online chat. Maybe that would be easier, right? Wrong! They put me on hold and then told me they couldn't help me. I had to call them back. Are you kidding me? This is ridiculous! I mean, I get that mistakes happen, but this is just too much. I'm seriously considering switching to a different company at this point.

Waste Management Terrible Waste Management Company: Unreliable, Dishonest, and Lazy

This company is a complete disaster. I put out two garbage cans on Monday with some apples in them, and they didn't take them. But two weeks ago, they took two cans that were completely full. I called on Monday to complain, and they said they would come back to pick up the cans. But no one came. I called again on Tuesday morning, and they said they didn't see the note, but they would come today. But they didn't come. I called again on Tuesday evening, and they said they were on their way, but they never showed up. I called again on Wednesday morning, and they said the driver came on Tuesday at 3:30 pm, but the cans were too heavy, so they left a tag on the can. But there was no tag on my can, and I was working in my garage at that time, so I know they didn't come. They even had someone call me to say they came on Tuesday and the cans were full of apples and dirt, but I explained that there was no dirt and no one came. In the end, I had to take the cans myself and dump them into a bagster, and I'm only 5'3"! This whole situation is ridiculous. Everyone I talked to lied to me on the phone, and I'm sure they've done it before and will do it again. The workers are lazy, and the company should be ashamed of themselves. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Waste Management Waste Management Review: Shady Business Practices and Poor Customer Service

I gotta say, Waste Management is not the best trash company out there. I had some serious issues with them and I want to make sure everyone knows about it. They tried to charge me over $109 a month for trash because they "messed up" somewhere in their system and they didn't fix it till I contacted BBB. And then they upped my rate by more than $20 for "fuel" surcharges. That's just not right.

So I canceled my service with them back in April after I already paid. But now they're trying to bill me for another month (even though they already picked up their cans) and charge me for them picking up their trash cans. When I 1st signed up, they charged me for the cans and said they would credit my account, but that NEVER happened. And now they want to try and charge me $200 because I closed my account and they had to pick up their trash cans THAT I PAID FOR! It's just ridiculous.

Their customer service is a joke and nothing will be done unless you bring attention to their shady business. So if you have them, be sure to check your account monthly because I can just imagine how many others they do this to that don't even know about it. Waste Management is not to be trusted.

Waste Management Poor Customer Service Experience with Waste Management

I was a bit worried when Waste Management took over our local trash service, and unfortunately, my concerns were confirmed this week. When the truck came to empty our trash, our trash cart disappeared without any communication from WM. We were left confused and unsure of what had happened. I spent six whole days trying to get in touch with customer service through phone calls, emails, and online chats, but to no avail. I even tried their website, but it was not as easy as they claimed it to be. There was no prompt to speak with someone, and I had to spend hours navigating through their website.

It was frustrating to hear the same recording over and over again while on hold, claiming that it was easy to take care of scheduling and issues on their website. However, it was definitely not the case. The only time I was able to speak to a live person was when I said I wanted to cancel my service. Even then, I was put on hold for 25 minutes, and the customer service representative said she would have to transfer me to someone else to complete the cancellation. After waiting for 25 minutes, I was disconnected, and I had to start over again!

In contrast, when I called a locally-owned service, I was able to arrange for new trash service and complete the paperwork while still on hold with Waste Management. It was a stark difference in customer service, and I would not recommend Waste Management to anyone who values good customer service and being able to reach someone if a problem arises.

Overall, my experience with Waste Management was disappointing, and I hope they can improve their customer service in the future. It is essential for a company to be able to communicate with their customers and address any issues that may arise promptly.

Waste Management Unjust Billing Practices: My Experience with Waste Management

I recently had an issue with Waste Management and I must say, it's really got me in a pickle. I've never had any major problems with them before, just the usual stuff that gets sorted out pretty quickly. But this time, it's really got my goat.

I informed them that I was moving, but the thing is, I was actually incarcerated at the time and moved after I got out. I reported my move to Waste Management, but for some reason, they still want to bill me. Not just for the first three months after I got out, but for an additional three months after I was gone. I've given them proof, they can call the jail, they can call the two home monitor companies I was on house arrest with in another county 60 miles away. I closed on my house in October and my wife handled the move. There was nobody there to put garbage in.

I disputed the bill and even gave them the realty company that took over the bills, but they denied my dispute. It's not my problem, it's not my responsibility. I did not live there. I've always paid my bills on time and have never had any issues. If it was my bill, I would pay it. But I'm not going to pay for something that isn't mine. I've given them proof, and even the collection agency calling me believes me. But Waste Management denied my dispute. Well, that's just too bad. I'm not going to pay for a bill that isn't mine.

To make matters worse, I found out that they are billing me for the next cycle too, even though I've been in my house for almost a year now. The first six months of it were spent on house arrest. Waste Management needs to get their act together and stop harassing me for bills that aren't mine. They can call my former probation officer or the jail if they need further proof. I turned myself in the day after my wedding in July of last year. So, they can kiss my you-know-what.

Waste Management Disappointing Experience with Waste Management's Pick Up Service: A Review

I gotta say, I was pretty excited to use Waste Management for my recent pick up needs. I mean, who wouldn't want to use a company with a name like that, right? And let me tell you, the baster was a real game changer. So easy to use and purchase, I was feeling pretty good about my decision.

But then things took a turn. You see, I contracted and paid Waste Management for a pick up by one of their trucks. But what I got was a whole different story. Instead of the "Boom" truck I saw in their video, I got a "Junk Truck For Hire" with a winch and hook. Not exactly what I was expecting.

To make matters worse, the guys who showed up had to make a makeshift ramp from my driveway to the bed of the truck just to get the baster up there. It was a real mess, with the baster spilling and needing constant adjustments. Definitely not the smooth and easy service that was advertised. And don't even get me started on the workers. No identification or professional attire to speak of. I was pretty uncomfortable having strangers on my property, to be honest.

But, I will say that the men who picked up the bag were very nice and accommodating. That's one thing that Waste Management has going for them - their reputation for good customer service.

Now, I know that some companies contract out their work load to others, but that's not really my concern. All I know is that I requested and PAID Waste Management for their services. And what I got was not what I was expecting.

I don't think I'll be using this service again unless I can be compensated in some way. I've lived and worked in this area for over 50 years, and I don't like endorsing companies that aren't upfront with their customers.

Overall, Waste Management has some work to do if they want to keep customers like me coming back. The baster was great, but the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired.

Waste Management Waste Management's Poor Service: Multiple Missed Pick Ups and Excessive Fees

I'm a property manager and we've been using Waste Management for our tenants' dumpster pick up every two weeks. However, we recently encountered a problem when they missed a scheduled pick up due to a tree limb in the alley, which was not on our property nor related to us. We called them to inquire about the issue and they informed us that they couldn't pick up that day and would have to wait until the next scheduled date. If we wanted them to come off schedule, we would have to pay a hefty $175 fee.

The next scheduled date was on Monday, January 24th, which was a month after the last pick up. Unfortunately, they didn't show up on that day, leaving our dumpster over-full with trash falling out and animals getting into it because we couldn't close it up. To remedy the situation, I purchased two trash cans to temporarily hold the excess trash until the dumpster was emptied. However, our tenants were still holding onto their trash, which was becoming a major issue.

To make matters worse, Waste Management missed two more pick ups after the initial one, making it a total of three missed pick ups. This is unacceptable! We have a photo from a week ago and one from yesterday, 1/27/22, which shows the extent of the problem. We've had to fill extra trash cans and hold trash in a room, which will only over-fill the dumpster again once the current trash is removed. It's a never-ending cycle!

As of today, 1/28, Waste Management has had more excuses than pick ups. Every missed pick up has had at least three different reasons why they haven't picked up. This is ridiculous! Their practices need to be looked into. I would give them zero stars if I could. Waste Management needs to step up their game and provide better service to their customers.

Waste Management Nightmare Company: Terrible Billing, Customer Service, and Bin Removal

This company is just the worst, I tell ya. They can't seem to get anything right. Their billing is all over the place, even when you're in a fixed contract. And don't even get me started on their customer service. It's like they don't even care about their customers. Every time I called with a question about my invoice, I would get the runaround. And one time, my account manager told me to use my common sense when I asked him to explain some charges. Can you believe that? I mean, I'm not a rocket scientist, but I'm not stupid either.

Dealing with them was a nightmare. Every time I had to call, I would get a headache and severe anxiety. And it would take up a whole hour of my day. I was so relieved when our contract was finally up and we could get rid of their bins. But even that was a hassle. I spent four days calling them to schedule a bin removal service. And every time I spoke with someone, they would tell me they would speak with dispatch and get back to me. But they never did. It was so frustrating.

Finally, after the fourth day, I had had enough. I called them every hour and demanded an update. And you know what they did? They sent my manager an email with fake confirmation numbers for the bin removal. Can you believe that? They told me there were no numbers available when I scheduled the removal, and now they're sending me fake ones? It was ridiculous.

But I didn't give up. I collected their main email and cc'd each customer service rep I had spoken with. And I sent them a very dissatisfied email. And you know what happened? Within half an hour, the truck was here to pick up the bins. It was like magic. But it shouldn't have had to come to that.

And get this: the third-party truck they sent to pick up the bins told me that all their drivers have quit because they're such a terrible company to work for. Can you believe that? I'm so glad we're done dealing with them. We've got a new recycling provider now, and I'm hoping for better success.

Waste Management Waste Management: A Crooked Company Only Interested in Corporate Greed

Waste Management has been providing services to our small business for years. However, we have recently noticed a significant increase in our bill, from $153 a week in 2017 to a whopping $400.00 a week this year. We were shocked to find out that an ex-employee who was handling accounts payable did not inform us about the increase. This is unacceptable and it is a reason why we will not be using their services anymore.

We were paying for two cans, but Waste Management was constantly not picking up our garbage while claiming that their "GPS" showed that they did. However, our full garbage cans proved otherwise. We had to call and request a pick-up, and even then, they did not show up when they said they would. It was a hassle and not worth it anymore. We reached our limit.

When we called to cancel our pick-up, we were told that we could not do so because we had signed a 3-year contract in 2017. We were shocked to find out that the contract had a clause that allowed them to automatically renew it. The clause was in very small print, almost impossible to read without a magnifying glass. They also claimed that they could raise our rates, but they must notify us. However, we were not notified, and they considered the fact that we paid our bill as an agreement to the increase. They claimed that it was legal!

We have been threatened with legal action by Waste Management, and they have turned it over to their lawyers. We are a small business and cannot afford to pay such an exorbitant rate for something that they did not reliably provide, and that we no longer need. However, they claim that they can legally force us to pay for something that we are not receiving. We have not put anything in their cans since February 24, 2022.

We strongly advise everyone to stay away from Waste Management. They are nothing but a crooked company that is only interested in corporate greed. They are a prime example of how corporate greed is killing the little guy.
