Beware of This Company: Unauthorized Charges and Poor Customer Service
This company is not to be trusted! If you have another option, go with that instead. I cancelled my service with them on June 18 and they picked up my tote within a week. But then, on July 6, they took out the service fee for July-September from my account! I was so upset and called to complain. The agent told me that I would get a credit for that fee on my final bill. But when I got my final bill on July 15, there was no credit for the service I paid for but couldn't use. I called them again and the agent said she couldn't do anything about the July payment but she helped me stop them from taking any more money from my bank account. I checked my portal and it showed that the authority was turned off. The two payments were almost the same, so they had already taken all the money they were owed.
Then, on August 6, I got a notification that they had taken the July 15 payment from my bank account, even though I had told them to stop! If you have to use this company, never, ever give them access to your bank account. They will take out any money they want, even if you tell them to stop. Just pay them by check or use the Bill Pay service from your bank. Don't make the same mistake I did!
Terrible Experience with Waste Management: Poor Customer Service and Billing Errors
I gotta say, I've had some pretty rough experiences with Waste Management. Like, seriously, from the very beginning it's been a total headache. I called them up to start service and it took me a solid 15 minutes just to get to the right person. And then, wouldn't you know it, they dropped my call! I had to call back not once, but twice before I finally got everything set up. And even then, it wasn't smooth sailing.
A couple weeks later, they up and took our trash bin! Can you believe it? I called them up and they told me that service was never actually set up in the first place. Apparently, the previous owner closed the account and they just assumed we didn't need the bin anymore. I mean, come on! So I had to go through the whole rigmarole again, getting passed around and hung up on and all that jazz. Eventually, they said they got it sorted out and we'd have our bin back in no time.
Well, it took them a week longer than they said it would, but we finally got our bin back. And then, wouldn't you know it, they messed up our billing! Our service address was all wrong and we were paying $30 more per month than everyone else in the neighborhood. I mean, what gives? So I called them up again, got passed around some more, and eventually they told me to call my account manager. I left her a message and waited. And waited. And waited some more. No call back. So I left another message. And still nothing!
Finally, I decided to try the online chat. Maybe that would be easier, right? Wrong! They put me on hold and then told me they couldn't help me. I had to call them back. Are you kidding me? This is ridiculous! I mean, I get that mistakes happen, but this is just too much. I'm seriously considering switching to a different company at this point.
Terrible Waste Management Company: Unreliable, Dishonest, and Lazy
This company is a complete disaster. I put out two garbage cans on Monday with some apples in them, and they didn't take them. But two weeks ago, they took two cans that were completely full. I called on Monday to complain, and they said they would come back to pick up the cans. But no one came. I called again on Tuesday morning, and they said they didn't see the note, but they would come today. But they didn't come. I called again on Tuesday evening, and they said they were on their way, but they never showed up. I called again on Wednesday morning, and they said the driver came on Tuesday at 3:30 pm, but the cans were too heavy, so they left a tag on the can. But there was no tag on my can, and I was working in my garage at that time, so I know they didn't come. They even had someone call me to say they came on Tuesday and the cans were full of apples and dirt, but I explained that there was no dirt and no one came. In the end, I had to take the cans myself and dump them into a bagster, and I'm only 5'3"! This whole situation is ridiculous. Everyone I talked to lied to me on the phone, and I'm sure they've done it before and will do it again. The workers are lazy, and the company should be ashamed of themselves. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Waste Management Review: Shady Business Practices and Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, Waste Management is not the best trash company out there. I had some serious issues with them and I want to make sure everyone knows about it. They tried to charge me over $109 a month for trash because they "messed up" somewhere in their system and they didn't fix it till I contacted BBB. And then they upped my rate by more than $20 for "fuel" surcharges. That's just not right.
So I canceled my service with them back in April after I already paid. But now they're trying to bill me for another month (even though they already picked up their cans) and charge me for them picking up their trash cans. When I 1st signed up, they charged me for the cans and said they would credit my account, but that NEVER happened. And now they want to try and charge me $200 because I closed my account and they had to pick up their trash cans THAT I PAID FOR! It's just ridiculous.
Their customer service is a joke and nothing will be done unless you bring attention to their shady business. So if you have them, be sure to check your account monthly because I can just imagine how many others they do this to that don't even know about it. Waste Management is not to be trusted.
Poor Customer Service Experience with Waste Management
I was a bit worried when Waste Management took over our local trash service, and unfortunately, my concerns were confirmed this week. When the truck came to empty our trash, our trash cart disappeared without any communication from WM. We were left confused and unsure of what had happened. I spent six whole days trying to get in touch with customer service through phone calls, emails, and online chats, but to no avail. I even tried their website, but it was not as easy as they claimed it to be. There was no prompt to speak with someone, and I had to spend hours navigating through their website.
It was frustrating to hear the same recording over and over again while on hold, claiming that it was easy to take care of scheduling and issues on their website. However, it was definitely not the case. The only time I was able to speak to a live person was when I said I wanted to cancel my service. Even then, I was put on hold for 25 minutes, and the customer service representative said she would have to transfer me to someone else to complete the cancellation. After waiting for 25 minutes, I was disconnected, and I had to start over again!
In contrast, when I called a locally-owned service, I was able to arrange for new trash service and complete the paperwork while still on hold with Waste Management. It was a stark difference in customer service, and I would not recommend Waste Management to anyone who values good customer service and being able to reach someone if a problem arises.
Overall, my experience with Waste Management was disappointing, and I hope they can improve their customer service in the future. It is essential for a company to be able to communicate with their customers and address any issues that may arise promptly.
Unjust Billing Practices: My Experience with Waste Management
I recently had an issue with Waste Management and I must say, it's really got me in a pickle. I've never had any major problems with them before, just the usual stuff that gets sorted out pretty quickly. But this time, it's really got my goat.
I informed them that I was moving, but the thing is, I was actually incarcerated at the time and moved after I got out. I reported my move to Waste Management, but for some reason, they still want to bill me. Not just for the first three months after I got out, but for an additional three months after I was gone. I've given them proof, they can call the jail, they can call the two home monitor companies I was on house arrest with in another county 60 miles away. I closed on my house in October and my wife handled the move. There was nobody there to put garbage in.
I disputed the bill and even gave them the realty company that took over the bills, but they denied my dispute. It's not my problem, it's not my responsibility. I did not live there. I've always paid my bills on time and have never had any issues. If it was my bill, I would pay it. But I'm not going to pay for something that isn't mine. I've given them proof, and even the collection agency calling me believes me. But Waste Management denied my dispute. Well, that's just too bad. I'm not going to pay for a bill that isn't mine.
To make matters worse, I found out that they are billing me for the next cycle too, even though I've been in my house for almost a year now. The first six months of it were spent on house arrest. Waste Management needs to get their act together and stop harassing me for bills that aren't mine. They can call my former probation officer or the jail if they need further proof. I turned myself in the day after my wedding in July of last year. So, they can kiss my you-know-what.
Disappointing Experience with Waste Management's Pick Up Service: A Review
I gotta say, I was pretty excited to use Waste Management for my recent pick up needs. I mean, who wouldn't want to use a company with a name like that, right? And let me tell you, the baster was a real game changer. So easy to use and purchase, I was feeling pretty good about my decision.
But then things took a turn. You see, I contracted and paid Waste Management for a pick up by one of their trucks. But what I got was a whole different story. Instead of the "Boom" truck I saw in their video, I got a "Junk Truck For Hire" with a winch and hook. Not exactly what I was expecting.
To make matters worse, the guys who showed up had to make a makeshift ramp from my driveway to the bed of the truck just to get the baster up there. It was a real mess, with the baster spilling and needing constant adjustments. Definitely not the smooth and easy service that was advertised. And don't even get me started on the workers. No identification or professional attire to speak of. I was pretty uncomfortable having strangers on my property, to be honest.
But, I will say that the men who picked up the bag were very nice and accommodating. That's one thing that Waste Management has going for them - their reputation for good customer service.
Now, I know that some companies contract out their work load to others, but that's not really my concern. All I know is that I requested and PAID Waste Management for their services. And what I got was not what I was expecting.
I don't think I'll be using this service again unless I can be compensated in some way. I've lived and worked in this area for over 50 years, and I don't like endorsing companies that aren't upfront with their customers.
Overall, Waste Management has some work to do if they want to keep customers like me coming back. The baster was great, but the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired.
Waste Management's Poor Service: Multiple Missed Pick Ups and Excessive Fees
I'm a property manager and we've been using Waste Management for our tenants' dumpster pick up every two weeks. However, we recently encountered a problem when they missed a scheduled pick up due to a tree limb in the alley, which was not on our property nor related to us. We called them to inquire about the issue and they informed us that they couldn't pick up that day and would have to wait until the next scheduled date. If we wanted them to come off schedule, we would have to pay a hefty $175 fee.
The next scheduled date was on Monday, January 24th, which was a month after the last pick up. Unfortunately, they didn't show up on that day, leaving our dumpster over-full with trash falling out and animals getting into it because we couldn't close it up. To remedy the situation, I purchased two trash cans to temporarily hold the excess trash until the dumpster was emptied. However, our tenants were still holding onto their trash, which was becoming a major issue.
To make matters worse, Waste Management missed two more pick ups after the initial one, making it a total of three missed pick ups. This is unacceptable! We have a photo from a week ago and one from yesterday, 1/27/22, which shows the extent of the problem. We've had to fill extra trash cans and hold trash in a room, which will only over-fill the dumpster again once the current trash is removed. It's a never-ending cycle!
As of today, 1/28, Waste Management has had more excuses than pick ups. Every missed pick up has had at least three different reasons why they haven't picked up. This is ridiculous! Their practices need to be looked into. I would give them zero stars if I could. Waste Management needs to step up their game and provide better service to their customers.
Nightmare Company: Terrible Billing, Customer Service, and Bin Removal
This company is just the worst, I tell ya. They can't seem to get anything right. Their billing is all over the place, even when you're in a fixed contract. And don't even get me started on their customer service. It's like they don't even care about their customers. Every time I called with a question about my invoice, I would get the runaround. And one time, my account manager told me to use my common sense when I asked him to explain some charges. Can you believe that? I mean, I'm not a rocket scientist, but I'm not stupid either.
Dealing with them was a nightmare. Every time I had to call, I would get a headache and severe anxiety. And it would take up a whole hour of my day. I was so relieved when our contract was finally up and we could get rid of their bins. But even that was a hassle. I spent four days calling them to schedule a bin removal service. And every time I spoke with someone, they would tell me they would speak with dispatch and get back to me. But they never did. It was so frustrating.
Finally, after the fourth day, I had had enough. I called them every hour and demanded an update. And you know what they did? They sent my manager an email with fake confirmation numbers for the bin removal. Can you believe that? They told me there were no numbers available when I scheduled the removal, and now they're sending me fake ones? It was ridiculous.
But I didn't give up. I collected their main email and cc'd each customer service rep I had spoken with. And I sent them a very dissatisfied email. And you know what happened? Within half an hour, the truck was here to pick up the bins. It was like magic. But it shouldn't have had to come to that.
And get this: the third-party truck they sent to pick up the bins told me that all their drivers have quit because they're such a terrible company to work for. Can you believe that? I'm so glad we're done dealing with them. We've got a new recycling provider now, and I'm hoping for better success.
Waste Management: A Crooked Company Only Interested in Corporate Greed
Waste Management has been providing services to our small business for years. However, we have recently noticed a significant increase in our bill, from $153 a week in 2017 to a whopping $400.00 a week this year. We were shocked to find out that an ex-employee who was handling accounts payable did not inform us about the increase. This is unacceptable and it is a reason why we will not be using their services anymore.
We were paying for two cans, but Waste Management was constantly not picking up our garbage while claiming that their "GPS" showed that they did. However, our full garbage cans proved otherwise. We had to call and request a pick-up, and even then, they did not show up when they said they would. It was a hassle and not worth it anymore. We reached our limit.
When we called to cancel our pick-up, we were told that we could not do so because we had signed a 3-year contract in 2017. We were shocked to find out that the contract had a clause that allowed them to automatically renew it. The clause was in very small print, almost impossible to read without a magnifying glass. They also claimed that they could raise our rates, but they must notify us. However, we were not notified, and they considered the fact that we paid our bill as an agreement to the increase. They claimed that it was legal!
We have been threatened with legal action by Waste Management, and they have turned it over to their lawyers. We are a small business and cannot afford to pay such an exorbitant rate for something that they did not reliably provide, and that we no longer need. However, they claim that they can legally force us to pay for something that we are not receiving. We have not put anything in their cans since February 24, 2022.
We strongly advise everyone to stay away from Waste Management. They are nothing but a crooked company that is only interested in corporate greed. They are a prime example of how corporate greed is killing the little guy.
