I purchased a pair of glasses from Warby Parker at the Freehold Mall about two months ago. When I was spending my money, the experience was pleasant and everyone seemed more than happy to help me. Apparently, that friendliness ends the second they have your money.
I returned today simply to ask about scratches on my glasses and whether anything could be done to repair them. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable. The gentleman behind the counter was unbelievably rude, dismissive and disrespectful. His attitude basically amounted to: No, we can’t help you, now get out.
What made it even worse was watching three employees standing around doing absolutely nothing while treating a paying customer like he was an inconvenience for having the nerve to ask a question about a product they sold him only two months ago.
Is this seriously Warby Parker’s idea of customer service?
The difference between how I was treated when they were taking my money and how I was treated when I came back needing assistance was absolutely mind-boggling. They couldn’t have been nicer when I was buying the glasses. Two months later, when I needed help? Completely different attitude.
That’s not customer service. That’s being nice when there’s a sale to be made and then treating the customer like garbage afterward.
The gentleman behind that counter has absolutely no business dealing with customers if this is how he speaks to people. Management should seriously reconsider whether someone with that attitude should be representing their company.
I walked into the store expecting nothing more than a simple conversation about scratched lenses. I walked out completely disgusted by the way I was treated.
I will never spend another dollar at this location. If this is how Warby Parker treats customers after the sale, they can keep their glasses. There are plenty of other optical stores that actually understand what the words “customer service” mean.
Recommendation: My recommendation for future customers stay away.
