VVM tv license they claim I owe money on

As from late last month (june 2011) sms notifications have been sent to my mobile phone stating that I owe money on my tv license. As I have been a paying tv license hold for many years I was a little alarmed by this. I duly checked the status of my tv license payments and have proof that it is up to date. Upon calling vvm, I was informed that the account in question is not mine but my husband's. Now my husband and I have been together for some 8 years and married for 4 years. We have been living in the same household for the past 8 years and have purchased a tv set using my valid tv license. Vvm are now addement that he provides proof of marriage in order to get the so called debt removed from his name. Now what's the point if they are linking me to him? I mean really now. And secondly, how dare they tell me that I owe them money?! I have duly informed them to no longer bother me with incorrect sms notifications or for that matter sms notifications stating that my husband owes them money! I couldn't care if they use a "trace" on him - then they should understand that if i'm receiving the sms notifications and have complained to them that the license he has is no longer valid and hasn't been valid since 8 years ago that they shouldn't even bother to ask for proof of marriage - I mean honestly now. What's more, they have no right to bother me for matters that do not concern me as I am not even married in cop! And am not responsibile for my husband's debt! To put is bluntly: they need to back off when told to do so and get their records up to date before claiming we owe them money.

I have received numerous sms messages from vvm inc saying, "your telkom account was handed over to vvm inc, [protected]. Contact us urgently to prevent legal action. Ref: [protected]." The telkom account in question is from 8 years ago which allegedly has an outstanding balance. To my knowledge I have no outstanding accounts but if provided with appropriate...
