I stopped by your Sonic Drive-In location at 5101 N. Broadway in Knoxville, TN this evening for your 1/2 priced Cheeseburger special. This is a regular thing for me on Tuesday nights. On this evening of 07/18/2022 at 9:05pm, I opened the Sonic App to place my order, but the App stated that the location wasn't accepting Call Ahead orders at the time. When I opened the App, even the App stated on the opening screen that Cheeseburgers were 1/2 price. I went to the #19 kiosk on the patio and pressed the call button to place my order. The total came to $11.88 - for 2 Cheeseburgers, no lettuce no pickles and a medium order of tots. When I address the issue with the order taker, about 1/2 priced Cheeseburger, she replied that they [Cheeseburgers] were NOT 1/2 price; and totaled out my order. I rang again and a man answered, I inquired again about why the Cheeseburgers weren't 1/2 priced. He simple stated that they were no longer 1/2 price. I canceled my order and left. Not very happy with the way I was treated, nor about being mislead about your 1/2 price Tuesday special. It seems that whenever I go to this location during the daytime, the staff is friendly. But when I stop in during evening hours, the staff just doesn't seem to care about how they treat the guest. I'm not sure why the App didn't take my order at 9:05pm, since I've stopped by that location in the evening and have been able to place mobile app orders after 9pm before.
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response to the situation. If a special is on for the day, then the special should be honored until the doors close and service is done for the evening - regardless if a guest is walk-up or drive-thru.
