Recently on Saturday, August 12, 2023... around 3pm, I enter the Monroeville, PA store with my daughter and we were greeted by a very nice gentleman named Jim. He asked what I was looking for? I replied a mattress set; then he pointed me in the right direction, and said if you need me just let me know.
I said ok, thanks! Well by the time I looked, he was busy with another customer, so I was not going to interfere. So then there was a older gentleman, with white/gray hair sitting at a counter on a tablet (which I did not know if he was a customer or Sales Associate). I said excuse me at least 2 or 3 times and asked if he worked here at the store? Why was he annoyed that I asked him? I told him I wasn't sure if he worked here or not. He was like who was helping you? I said Jim? (Who was occupied at the time with another customer.) I told him I just wanted to know about a price on the bed that I was looking at. So in the interim the bed was on clearance but the was a tag that said $899.00. (That price was for the platform frame.) Which that was not the price... It ended up being $5k or more; which that was not visible to the eye (you had to pull the tag out, which I did not know.) Overall this person's attitude towards me was not professional. We left the store!
My husband and I have bought so much furniture from Value City several years back. Two sets of leather furniture, bedroom furniture and dining furniture to say the least. So this man being so annoyed and he cannot deny that he was... Has made me not want to ever patronize this furniture store ever again.
I had never been so ticked off.
Desired outcome: Better social skills the needs of your customers... No matter what their nationality background is.
