I was humiliated by a manager, Tony. I took a dress to the store with all the tags ATTACHED, just as it had been delivered to me, along with the shipment receipt detailing the purchase information that proved the dress had indeed been delivered from www.TJMaxx.com. I wanted to exchange the dress but since there were none in the store I had no other choice but to return it and ask for a refund back to the credit card I used for the purchase. However; The dress had a LORD & TAYLOR tag, along with other tags, I did not find that strange because I am used to buying high end- high quality merchandise from TJ MAXX. I was even a bit proud that I scored such a bargain; a dress that another store was also selling for what I'm sure was a lot more than the $29.99, I had paid for it. The cashier said it wasn't theirs because of the Lord & Taylor tag. I pointed out the dress info on the shipment receipt and so she asked one of the managers (Tony) for a tag, that would allow her to credit my account. Did I mention that my Credit Card it the TJM Rewards Card? No brainer right? Well Tony decided that the dress was from L&T and that he was not going to credit my account for merchandise that didn't belong to TJMaxx. He then told me that if I really did get the dress from TJMaxx.com, that I should mail it to back to them for a refund. I was about to leave the store when I realized that I could look it up on my Smart Phone (thank God for modern tech, it substitutes common sense) and there it was my irrefutable proof, because everything else evidently was not good enough. With cell phone in hand loaded with newly acquired proof, I spoke to different manager and within seconds my account was credited. BTW, I did not get an apology from Manager Tony, whom from now on I will refer to as the Grinch at TJ Maxx. I can think of more horrible names, but since he lacks the spirit of Christmas, the Grinch is perfect, for now...
