My wife and I purchased an extended protection plan when we purchased a 2021 Acadia. We traded the car before the factory warranty expired. When we asked for a refund we were told it would be prorated. Fine we thought since the extended part was not in effect as the factory was still in effect we would get our money back minus the $50 cancellation fee. Wrong, they prorated it at 57%. So we lost almost 1/2 our $3140 price tag. Why should we be paying for time already under the factory warranty? If this had been explained at the time of purchase we would have waited. Your dealers need to take the time to totally explain this purchase which our dealer did not. This is just another money grab by a big company. Our refund was $1739.80.
Desired outcome: We would like to be refunded the balance of the purchase price minus the $50 cancellation fee.
