The Salvation Army USA - Hostile aggressive cashier

Friday 07/07/2023

Time 11:20

Clerk 07 No.55277

Location: Endicott NY

It was a beautiful sunny day in Endicott NY as I pulled my truck in front of your building to drop off fresh doughnuts to your staff. I was greeted with a warm smiling young lady with glasses who graciously accepted the doughnuts & told me she would put them in the break room for the team members. I noticed an antique barometer

I wanted to purchase. I asked the cashier Cherly how much the item was? she snarled with a "I ain't sure". So I politely asked her if she could check the price She then asked if "I got Enough to pay for it anyway? Insinuatebthat I couldn't afford the item she explained was worth $500. I was so excited when she told me it was $75. Luckily I had $2000 cash in my money clip that day so I handed her $75 and proceeded to take the item to my truck to place in the back seat next to all the doughnuts I was delivering for the day. When I came back in with the written tag she began to become hostile and told me & I didn't giver her enough money. And" dont be waIking around this neighborhood like that" I was confused by her behavior & comment accusing me of steeling the item she wrote up for $75. I asked her to please ring in the item so I could pay the $6 sales tax. I gave her the additional money and walked out feeling horrible and disrespected. When I left the store my friend Norah called me and told me that Cherly then proceeded to tell the staff that I attempted to steel from your location. I currently work with local police authorities, and state officials to ensure the safety of our local community. I was doing a delivery saw a beautiful piece of furniture and purchased it for a great price. It's sad that I was treated so badly by that lady who's image & hygiene was very poor like her attitude, customer service & communication skills. The Supervisor Mary called me and apologized for her employee behavior & thanked me for the doughnuts. I won't come back to donate nor support this location with employees like Cheryl on register.

Desired outcome: Corrective Action
