Dollar Tree - complaint of racial profiling and unprofessional employee

On 09/17/17 I visited the Dollar Tree located at 1551 Niagara Falls Boulevard, Buffalo NY. I was racially profiled by a male employee named Derek, he has long blonde shoulder length hair. I came in the store with my 2 children, (2 y.o. son and 12 y.o. daughter) we are black. This was to be a quick stop, so my husband and 3 month old daughter were in the parking lot waiting for us to return. I was in the process of buying some index cards, and my 2 kids that came in with me went in the toy aisle that was directly beside the stationary aisle. My children and I were communicating the entire time over the toy wall. I heard them playing with a horn, which I was planning on purchasing for them as they sorted through the other toys to pick more things to buy. A white male employee spoke to them both in a very aggressive tone. I went over to him and asked him what did they do wrong, and why is he talking to my children? He stated they were playing with the horn and he wanted them to stop as it is annoying him. I stated this is a toy aisle and I don't appreciate him speaking to my children in the manner he did, he then said the customers in the store do not need this much noise while they are shopping. My children were not running in the aisle nor were they screaming, yelling or talking loudly. They were simply playing with a horn. I stated no one is complaining, and this is a public store therefore they can play with a toy if they choose to do so. Immediately a customer who is a white lady came up to me and stated she was bothered by the noise the toy was making. I told her to leave my personal space, and this is a public store. There were other kids in the store who were not of color and they were not spoken to by the employee, and they were also touching items. The employee decides to follow me throughout the store, so I decided to check out. I went to the register the lady who claimed the horn my children were playing with bothered her was in the same line I was in, and I told her in the future to not include herself in situations that has nothing to do with her. The employee, Derek came up to the register and told me to leave his store, I stated I will not do such thing until I paid for my items, and my money is just as good here as everyone else's money. The employee stood by the door the entire time, and tried to kick me out the store twice while I checked out, and stated he doesn't want my kids touching the toys I stated you don't want them touching it because we are black, he then told me I was disgraceful for saying that, I told him he was disgraceful for verbally attacking a 2 year old over a toy they sold in their store, which I was planning on buying and now telling me, their mom who was sticking up for my children to leave the store. The issue was clearly not the toy, but the color of me and my children skin. Because all the other children who were in the store at that time, and they were all white were never approached by this employee to stop touching items. I was humiliated and degraded by your employee and the woman on the register opposite me stood there the entire time and did not reprimand him for his behavior but when I asked him for his name to file a complaint, she stated she was the manager. Which was very shocking to me that she is the manager and allowed him to behave this way in her presence towards a customer. I went to the parking lot told my husband about the incident, he went in the store very upset, and asked for the manager. The woman who stated she was the manager told my husband that she isn't the manager, but Derek is, so I am still not sure who the real manager of this store is. I filed a complaint on your website, as well as called your customer service line and waited 20 minutes and was not able to leave a message, as the voicemail for Steven Crawford your customer service representative sent me to was full.

Please read with understanding, this clear racism, and this employee should be reprimanded, Stop parent bashing and see the issue for what it is. I was paying for the items not having my kids play with random toys.
