I brought a refill prescription bottle back to the pharmacy during the time when this drugstore was very backed up during the time when they were giving flu shots. The pharmacy technician was on the computer and just glanced at me and said "Is this a refill?" I said yes and went about my business in the store. When I came back to get the prescription, they told me there was no prescription and no record of me ever having been there, or requesting a refill. The person I dealt with was the same person who originally took the bottle from me. The flu shot program has also caused prescriptions to be delayed in filling them. At one point they told me it would be about twenty minutes and it was well over 45 minutes. Perhaps during the flu shot program, they should employ extra help to cover the added influx of customers coming in for the flu shot, so that the regular pharmacy customers will not have to wait or have their prescriptions lost!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
My Dr's office states that even if you file a police report that your medicine was stolen they will not believe you and you will not get a refill no matter what, at least where I live. Most likely this is everywhere and they know this and they probably took your moms meds for themselves knowing nothing was going to happen to them and they can just blame in on your mom being an addict
My mom submitted an Oxy-something pain killer to Walgreens on Fairground Road in Salem Oregon. came back and was told that it was already picked up. Not the case and a police report was made. The Pharmacist admitted to the police that they are not sure what happened to her prescription, yet still wont it for her. I understand that they need to resolve this, but why make someone suffer while Corporate Walgreens tries to figure out what happened? I would think that a simple inventory would prove they still have the pills and go ahead and fill the customers needs for Medicine. Any advise as to how I can get this process expedited?...as this is cruel to allow her to suffer. Any advice is appreciated!
OMG, this same thing happened to me about 2 years ago! What I do now is stand there and watch them input it into the computer before I walk away. I figure this is probably good practice at any pharmacy. One time, the pharmacy tech wanted to put the prescriptions aside to go back and work on something else, so I told him to hand them back. He then inputed them immediately.
