We filed in a Walmart and asked the guy the cost and he said $100. We asked several times to clarify it was only $100 and he said yes. He even asked if we just wanted to pay the $100 up front. So come deposit day and I was charged $439 for a regular joint filed tax return! Nothing special, nothing owed! We were lied to and scammed. NO PERSON IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD PAY BASICALLY HALF THEIR TAX REFUND FOR A FILING! We were scammed!
Claimed loss: $439
Desired outcome: I would like to be refunded the difference. I will pay the $100 I was quoted but $439 is INSANE for a small one income household family.
