CVS - Service

Date May 7, 2021

Dear CVS
My complaint is very simple. I was treated very unfairly. I had some medicine filled in April of this year at CVS at 5301 Broadway Merrillville, Indiana. This store CVS Pharmacy department did I want to fill the medication because my insurance information would not go through. I wanted to explain my insurance cards, but no one at the store would listen to me. I returned home and called my insurance company. They in turn, called the store and I got my medication. I thought everything was taken care of.
However, on Tuesday May 4th 2021 I attempted to fill a new prescription at the same CVS on 5301 Broadway in Merrillville Indiana 46407. Again, I had problems with your pharmacy department not wishing to honor my insurance. The girl at the window was very hostile. The pharmacist was racist. They end up calling the police.
I discovered today that my name is on a police report. This insult is demeaning and an insult to my character as a man. Your staff needs training as it relates to systemic racism. They offered me $7 as compensation. This was a joke. No gift card can replace these values. I think a gift card with much more value than $7 is warranted in this situation. I also feel the store should apologize in a letter to me as well. Black men are treated less than subhuman. The pharmacist, the lady at the counter and the Merrillville policeman did not listen, it was as if "whatever" I said did not count. I had to return home call the insurance company once again. And the Insurance company had to call the store. CVS was very unprofessional, hostile and racist.
Even though, the first technician was black, she still exhibited certain racist tendencies. She has a preconceived notion about me as a person and I believe that's because of the leadership of the pharmacist there who was obviously racist.
Now, my name is on a police report. What did I do that was wrong? This is wrong and that's how racism starts.
What are you going to do to clear this matter up and get rid of a police report?

Thanks
Arthur Joseph Jr.

Desired outcome: prescription filled and a gift card
