Subway

I work within 6 miles of the Subway located at 3798 E. State Street in Rockford, IL. I occasionally run in and purchase a sandwich on my lunch break between 12:00 - 12:30. I was disappointed in the appearance of the food on March 10, 2021.

When I walked in the door there were no customers in the store. I told the young African American woman I want a footlong chicken sandwich. She asked me if I wanted cheese on it and I said "yes." I had my heart set on Swiss cheese but was horrified to see that it was totally dried up and discolored. I told the young woman, "That Swiss cheese is all dried up and discolored. Are you really going to try to sell that?" She looked at me as if she didn't understand a word I was saying. I choose another cheese and asked to have my sandwich toasted.

When it came out of the toaster, I walked down to the toppings. I wanted shredded lettuce but it was quite brown and wilted. I passed on that. It should have been thrown out and replaced with fresh green lettuce. I limited my toppings due to their awful appearance.

Now I know why the store had no customers.
