On November 27 at 11:43 am I called the pharmacy to move up the time of a automated refill prescription. The phone was not answered after 35 minutes of waiting. I called the store and spoke to a manager Mary Beth who transferred me to the pharmacy and told me to call her back if no one picked up. After 13 minutes, I hung up and called back and talked to someone who "worked in the front" who told me that he could transfer my call or "take my number back to them, but there is no guarantee they will call you back." My insurance requires me to use this pharmacy or you would not have my business. Even if the pharmacy is short on workers (poor management) or has lines around the store, my phone call deserves a place in the line of people that are getting service. Every pharmacy worker I have ever talked to has been extremely pleasant. My problem is getting to talk to them. I now feel as though my prescriptions are hostages and I am at the mercy of people who don't even care enough to pick up the phone. Hire more workers. I had a 30 second question that would have taken one minute to take care of. Now I have to drive to the store just to get someone to acknowledge that I exist. Either adequately staff your pharmacy to meet the demands, or at the very least train them on how to answer a phone call, register the time it came in, and "put it in line" to be waited on.
