Edible Arrangements - bait and switch

I love surprising my friends and family with edible arrangement bouquets for special occasions. The fruit is always delicious and fresh, and I've always recieved great customer service. I usually have my friends or family send me a picture when the item is delivered. This time to my surprise, I was disappointed to see that the item I ordered was nothing like the one I purchased. I went back to my confirmation email to check if I ordered the correct item thinking that I must have made a mistake. That's when I noticed a disclosure on the confirmation email that said *product container may VARY.
This is very misleading and deceiving for the customer. This is not a variation (such as a color or pattern change) it is a completely different container. I purchased the fruit in the colorful patterned mug because my friend is a coffee lover, and I was excited for her to be able to use the mug afterwards. The edible arrangement that arrived was in a ceramic vase... that she has no use for now. Very disappointing to find this out after I just spent $68 on a product that wasn't nearly as nice. Had I known that she wouldn't recieved the mug prior to my purchase I would have chosen a different option, such as the chocolate covered fruit box that can be discarded afterwards. Edible arrangements offers a nice service that I've enjoyed using over the years, but this instance has unfortunately caused me to rethink future purchases.

Yes, this has been a huge issue. As an Edible store owner, I have been just as disappointed. The franchise purposely withheld containers which left all of us with about 30% of the inventory we needed. We were all very excited when this mug came out. Shortly after placing our inventory orders we were told we would only be shipped 2 cases. Then a month or so later were able to get another case but most stores have been out of the mug, you thought you were getting, since June yet they keep it on the web. The replacement is not even close to comparable. I’m Sorry you were deceived but please know that, at the store level, we were equally as deceived. Doesn’t make it right but whatever store fulfilled you’re order had their hands tied.
